Kubota Kommander or Hustler Fastrak

Great looking mower! Trying to decide on my first ztr.

How much different is your fastrak vs the raptor SD? I've seen the Raptor SD listed for $3,999.

The FasTrak is a bit larger but they have the same motor. The seat is better on the FasTrak, and it has larger wheels and a longer warranty (extra year and 100 hours). The deck is also stronger on the FasTrak. That $3,999 is the price for a 54".

On the smaller wheels I always seem to scar up the yard - I know it's operator error but on the 2" wider FasTrak wheels I have not left any marks in the yard.

I just found out my mower jack is too narrow for the FasTrak and I'll have to modify it to be 4" wider, 2" each side.

Thanks Don! Yes, that price is for the 54" at Lowes ($3k for the 54" non SD and $4.5k for 60").

Not sure if good deal. I never look forward to dealing with sales folk.

That is exactly the same price at the dealers. The dealer will be the one doing any warranty repair work.

Anyone have ground speed ratings for the Kommander and Fasttrak 54inch models. I am seeing 8-9mph, can either push up to say 10-12mph?

Travel Speed:
Kubota Kommander - 8 mph
Hustler FasTrak - 8mph
Hustler Raptor SD - 7.5 mph

This is on the brochures. I don't have a way of measuring ground speed.

The FasTrak SuperZ is rated at 14mph.

Thanks, I have been looking at both manufacturers web sites. Looking at a FasTrak SD 60inch this weekend. They claim, 9mph. I will push that high for long stretches. Probably looking at least two hours of operations when in use per grass cutting event.

So other deciding factors for me will be the seat and the folding ROPS.

There are 3 FasTrak models:
FasTrak 8mph - 22" wheels - Hydrogear 3100
FasTrak SD 9mph - 22" wheels - Hydrogrear 3400
FasTrak SDX 9mph - 23" wheels - Hydrogear 3400

I've had my Fastrak SD 2yrs now...0 problems.... Love it!!!....I will say other than the deeper deck the 2015 model is not as heavy built as mine...Cheaper engine (FS not the FX) and the drop on the deck is no longer Chain hung (brackets) plastic pulley covers (mine are metal)... like mine much better than the new model...JS

PVHlll Thanks for the observations on the changes. I'm glad you also love your FasTrak! They did replace the deck chains with a metal brackets - I wonder what the reason/advantage was, the cost would seem the same. I can see how the chains would allow for the deck to come up if you hit something.
All the pulley covers on residential Z's are plastic now. I did not look at the high end commercial units. I was comparing it to the Kommander and wanted to stay in that price range. The Kommander also has plastic pulley covers and no chains.

For those looking there are different motors on the 3 different FasTrak models:
They have 3 FasTraks models for 2015.
Each of the models comes in 48", 54", and 60". For the 54" these are the motors used: (for 60" the 730 motors are used)
FasTrak Kawasaki FR691
FasTrak SD Kawasaki FS691
FasTrak SDX Kawasaki FX691

Each of the models goes up in price at least $1000 - $1300

One of the reasons I picked the 54" is because it was the largest one that fit on a 5' wide trailer.
