I assume then that the plugs don't get warm to touch either. An electrical fault is possible but there could still be a simple pre-heating step that you are overlooking. (e.g. The on/off key would need to be in the correct position too.) Can you ring whoever sold it to you and and get them to re-explain the pre-heat procedure? Did you disconnect the battery or any cables at any stage? Were there any small leads connected to the terminals or anywhere else that you forgot to reconnect? It looks pretty clean. Did you hose it down? Perhaps some grease, dirt or rust has got into an electrical connection somewhere.

A couple more things. My tractor won't start unless my foot is on the clutch. My ride-on mower won't start unless my foot is on the brake. It's easy to forget these things if you haven't used them much.

Good brainstorming on your part. Yes I will call previous owner. I have not washed machine off. There is no other wires at battery beyond the normal positive and negative cables. I tried the multimeter test with key in various positions. When I was showing Mr. Kabota who the boss was, I had three batteries at work site, and yes I ran all three down.

Hi, I just replaced my fuel filter on l1500dt. I used the on off valve to fill the new filter with diesel ldisconnected the injector
line and turned the engine over to prime the line l connected the lines back and tried to start the motor no luck in starting.
I then traced the fuel lines to the pump and saw a nut with a screw driver slot I backed it out and air bubbled out so I went back to the injector lines loosen them and turned over the engine this procedure helped in purging all the air out. It started right up.
To start the motor through the air filter I use wd 40 works good

god bless skip

Note: 7 year old thread.

Sounds like you got the problem fixed. I was going to suggest that you loosen up the injector tubes at the injectors themselves. I have seen the "cushion" of the trapped air in the line between the pump and the injectors be enough not to open the injectors. But you got it done by bleeding air at the pump. Good Job.
