Here’s a few pics of the Turbo pipes along with….the new downpipe;

The new downpipe increases velocity albeit flows the same as the original pipe but, offers better clearance and easier installation.

I had a L2501 and outgrew it quickly. Purchased a Case 50a and outgrew that over a few years. Sold the Kubota at a loss of 400 dollars with around 100 hours on it. Sold the case at a loss of 700 dollars with 350 hours I had put on it. Neither tractor owed me a thing when I got rid of them but I certainly would have started with a Deutz 5080 or a case 75a if I knew then what I know now.

This process is “neat” but feels like someone hot rodding a Geo Metro so they could beat a Toyota Corolla in a race… when they could have spent as much on a Camaro to begin with.

That’s an understandable opinion. Heck, if you have jobs that require more tractor weight, and you have the money, go for it! Nothing wrong with that. Oftentimes, that’s the best decision. However, if you don’t need the additional weight, and you are looking at saving some money instead of upgrading to an alternative tractor, the Turbo is a great option. It’s not for everyone but, it sure is effective! ;)

Seems to me like you have way more money in your modifications than a larger unit would cist anyway. Being an AWS certified TIG welder, I commend you on your welding skills. My only positive comment other than what tubing bender you have? A Baliegh maybe?

The Kubota L2501 Standard L series tractor with the Turbo Kit provides more power than the Kubota L3901/L3902 Standard L series tractors.

The L2501 with the Turbo Kit, is in fact less expensive than the L3901/L3902 tractors.

An L2501 including the Turbo Kit will save $2,234 over the purchase of an L3901 and $4,487 over the L3902.

I’ve covered this previously in the thread.

Don't matter to me at all as my 2 units are twice as large anyway. I do like following along but IMO, your modification exceeds the realm of what most tractor owners can undertake. Like I said, nice welds. How much sugaring did you experience or did you pre-purge with argon prior to?

I'm starting to come to the realization that you are having the custom fabrication done by someone else, not you because I ask simple questions about weld methodology and you never answer. Hope you are paying whomever an equitable amount because I charge at least 120 bucks an hour for TIG welding and metal fab.

We don’t have a tubing bender. Never have. We buy pre-fabricated tubes and u-bends and cut to fit.

All tubing is back purged 100%…we utilize continuous purging when welding our tubing together as that keeps the gas on the inside of the tubing continuously clean and avoids any potential contamination of the welds penetration during the final weld process.

And no, I’m not the welder/fabricator. However, I have shared your compliments and feedback.

Is Kioti still in the pipes for a turbo kit?
