Kubota L2501

While a fun project I sure wouldn’t add a turbo unless your into modifying stuff.

I own a JD 2025r which is at the 25hp limit so no DPF, it about 1250cc displacement. I owned a Kubota BX 2350 before, 900cc displacement and 23 hp. I thought the JD might feel like it had quite a bit more power because of its larger displacement but it doesn’t. It feels like 2 more horsepower. It’s a good fit for my tractor but the 2025r is a frame size smaller than a Kubota L size.

I’m not trying to talk you out of it but if what you have is working fine I’d just live with the regens.

The Turbo Kit installation is a simple 2-3 hour job that’s only slightly more involved than a muffler swap on the L2501. It’s completely bolt-on and aside from the installation itself, no other modifications or fabrication is required. Super easy.

The OP stated he’s tired with the annoyance and wasted fuel from the Regens on his B3350. Seems to me that he no longer wishes to live with the emissions complications and would prefer a replacement machine.

Are these custom made to each order or do you keep an inventory of turbo kits?

Hmmm, wonder if one exists for a Yanmar SA425?

Right now, they're made to order with an ETA of 3-6 weeks. Perhaps, sometime down the road they will be a 'stocked' item.

Not to my knowledge but, I'm sure we'll be looking for other applicable applications in the future. Right now, guys in the high elevations are really happy using the Turbo Kits for altitude compensation. Most guys are not even adjusting the factory fuel settings and leaving them completely stock. Those folks are reporting a restoration of lost performance (and a marginal gain in power), a drop in recorded EGT's and a significant reduction of engine smoke or completely eliminating smoke altogether.

Not bashing the turbo at all (I think it's awesome what you did and that you're able to share with others), but didn't you also have to adjust the fuel intake in addition to the bolt-on parts?

Edit: sorry, see you mention this in a more recent post I hadn't read yet. So not everyone needs to adjust the fuel settings. That's cool

Have run 60 inch flail mower thru 20 acres for several years on my 2501 at pretty normal speed never feeling the need for a turbo, I am retired though and not in a hurry. Were I to upgrade, but won't, I'd get a 3901, 3902 now.

^^^^
That’s too bad because the Turbo Kit would certainly speed-up your mowing chores and effortlessly power the flail mower. Plus, the Turbo Kit is much less expensive than the price difference between the L2501 vs. L3901. ;)
