A buddy just sold a ~1994 L2650 which he hadn't owned long. Said it was a shuttle shift. New owner claims the PTO doesn't disengage with the clutch. Can anyone describe the PTO/Clutch arrangement on this model?

My buddy called a couple of dealers and it seems the PTO clutch is stuck (rusted) due to lack of use. I've heard of this with the transmission clutch but never a PTO clutch. He's going to make it right with the new owner but the dealer says he may have to split the tractor. Seems to me you could put on an implement like a bush hog with a lot of inertia and "bump" it. Gotta be a lot cheaper than splitting it. Anyone else have this problem?

I Have not seen that problem, but I can see how it could happen. I think your solution should work… rapidly changing the RPM while holding the clutch in, should free the driveline. KennyV.
