Kubota l2800 both fuel and temp guages

Hello I have a Kubota l2800 hydro transmission. Both of my fuel and temp guages work intermittently either both work or both don't. Have checked all fuses and removed dash and looked everything over. I could not find a problem. Also when I turn the key to start only the battery light comes on. Use to have another light, I think it was the oil pressure lamp, would come on but not anymore. This second light was to the left of the battery light. To make matter worse sometimes the engine will not crank. I do get the clicking sound of the fuel pump or whatever it is but the engine won't turn over. So to start it I get a pair of pliers and jump the wire at the starter. Then next time it may start by turning the key.

I am hoping that someone on the forum has a solution for me. Because these problems are off and on I thought it might be a loose wire connection somewhere but I could not find one.
There may be three different problems here, just don't know. I do not know where to start looking. This is my first tractor so don't yet know much about them.

Any and all help or suggestions welcome.

PS my serial number or vin is 65444. Wonder what year it is??

One more thing. the transmission wines is this normal for the HST? The tractor has 608 hours. When I first bought it I changed all the fluids in the tractor and front axle.

Mine is 54,1xx and was bought Jun. 2005 - any after 2008 have Xtra Power sticker... I would GUESS it's about late 2006-ish. But the tractor could sit on a lot for sometime. They don't really go by years.

The whine is "normal", if you used Kubota Super UDT2 - some say it's less noise. I've done both and could not tell the difference myself... (old ears!!!)

Had an old IH Scout that I had to jump the wires at the starter.... one day I learned that I should not have left the Scout it in gear... :shocked:

Sorry I don't know about your gauges... hope someone smarter swings on by...

When two unrelate gauges fail I would suspect a grounding problem, first on the list.

Try to find a schematic diagram for your tractor. On many older vehicles the instruments did not receive twelve volts. They received a lower regulated voltage, like five volts. If that is the case with your tractor you may have a regulated voltage supply problem or a dirty contact in that line.

Check your grounds and try rocking the treadle pedal when it won't start I had to adjust the switch on my l3800....

Grounding. Somewhere the instrument circuit isn't grounding properly.
