TalonDancer - thats great info! Never heard that before and it does seem to work out.
My motto is usually "If it falls your way, take credit" :)

But the truth is, I read the 'first two digits of a Kubota FEL model number * 100kg => lift capacity in kg' in a recent TBN thread. And sure enough, every FEL I've checked works out that way :)

I think you have figured out what the deal is but I still have to post this picture just because "people" said that "that little thing cant do it"

That must be light weight hay or is that a full size round bale. I thought a round bale weighed 1500-1800 Lbs. That is more than the l463 is capable.

Here is my experience with the B3400

I borrowed my neigbors B3400 serveral times because I was to lazy ro take the BH of my L39 and I wanted to do some box blading with my 6' Landpride. So I would not beat up his new bucket with rocks, I tossed the L39 bucket on the L3400. The bucket is same width but about 1.5-2 inches higher and deeper than the B3400 bucket, so it holds maybe 2-3 more Ft^3 of material.

I hand loaded the L39 bucket with fieldstones.
The 3400 just barely could lift a barely slightly heaped filled L39 bucket about 1 foot off the ground. Also the rear tires were almost coming off the ground even with a 600 lb BB and loaded R4's

I guess the L3400 had about 1100-1200 lbs in the bucket, so if the fellow could not lift that little harrow, there is a problem. I bet I could lift it with my B7200, which is good for 600 Lbs.

PS When I bought my L39, the pressures were low. I think it is common to find new tractors not set to spec.

In that particular shot they are 4x5 coastal. i have done some 5x5's on the front but I cant get a 6x5 more than a few inches on the front. i can still move them because i can stab them and then roll the bucket back enough to get them off the ground to be moved.

the 4x5's are pretty easy though.

FWIW here are the specs on the L3400 - LA463 FEL from the Kubota web site...
Material Bucket Width/Weight 60 in. (1525mm) / 260 lbs. (118kg)
Lift Capacity (Pivot pin) 1142 lbs. (518kg)
Lift Capacity (Bucket center) 1014 lbs. (460kg)
Lift Capacity (500mm forward) 853 lbs. (387kg)
Breakout Force (500mm forward) 1858 lbs. (8267N)

Note the drop in lift capacity from the pivot pin 1,142lbs, to just under 20" forward 853lbs.

How do you check the fel to see if the pressure is set correctly. Also can the pressure be raised. i need more lifting power

sbailey, if your L3400 will not lift that plow with ease, there is something wrong with it. Get it checked out.

bmilker,

Search for pressure gauge. There is a thread on it I read a few days ago. It also talks about adjustment with shims.
