I keep coming back to this thread, looking at all the pictures...with envy...

Then have to take the time remind myself that what I got is big enough for under 4 acres... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Rockdog, again GREAT tractor and thank you for the great photos. I've been wondering what made you decide to get the L3430 with cab. I see you have 4 acres and live in Iowa. I'm not familiar with the weather in your state but I gather you do get some cold weather. Would a smaller tractor have worked for you it was available with a cab? Don't get me wrong, I have almost 4 acres and absolutely love the cab tractors but the $6K extra for the cab is a little steep. Fortunately for me /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif the wife said I should get the cab as it will probably last many, many years. Living in Maryland we get some very hot, humid summer days and some very cold winters, (especially right now). Since my main use of the tractor will be mowing the 4 acres with a few side jobs using the loader, this is a tough decision. But like the wife said it will last a long time. I gather you plan on using a rear finish mower, why did you not want the belly mower? Again thanks. Your thoughts, comments.

Sounds like your weather is very similar to Iowa. Subzero in winter, 90+ in summer with high humidity. The cab was a $4200 option because my dealer wasn't asking the full $5500. Also, he threw in rear work lights, defroster and radio mount option and installed my radio/CD at no charge. With heater & A/C as a standard feature, I figured by the time I added some of these options to a hard sided cab, I would have spent $3000 to $3500. I liked my old B2710 tractor real well but needed more HP for doing new lawn construction as well as using the new rotary cutter to bush hog neighbors 5 acres. I did get the belly mower and I'm sure it will work fine, all my previous Kubotas were also belly mowers. As I get older it seems the more I like some of these creature comforts. Don't miss the strong cold winds nor do I miss getting sprayed by all the slush and salt on the road from the front tires when I drive it on the paved county roads, which is often. Hope you are enjoying your cab and staying warm.

</font> Thank you for your reply. I do not have the cab tractor but I'm sure I'll get the 3430 cab version when the finances are correct. Only problem with my current tractor (Kubota) is I find the belly mower is harder to put on/take off vs the rear mower. I do like the belly mower so I hope the newer version of the belly mower is easier to put on/take off. The wife likes the belly mower better, less chance of her hitting anything compared to the rear mower. And since she is giving me the go ahead for the cab tractor I guess I'll just have to suffer with the belly mower. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Again thank you.
