kubota l35 fwd problems

hi. the problem is the tractor runs fine in 2wd then switch to 4wd and the prob starts .1st and 2nd gear seem fine 3rd and up not so good worse when under a load.kinda sounds like a dozer lug.lug.lug and so on.in the trans.or transfre case?maybe not enguaging fully in gear.help would be appreciated thanks. david

That doesn't sound right, but can you explain a little more? Is it new to you or have you had it for a while? What rpm? Are hydraulics working OK? Is everything normal in all gears if you're in 2wd? Tire pressure OK? Engine starts and runs OK until you get into higher gears and 4wd? Engine smoking or overheating? Burns oil? You're not using the 4wd on dry pavement, right?
