1995 Kubota L35
UT - May 15, 2010
1995 Kubota L35 tractor backhoe full cab with 1613 hours. Accessories are 48 in. brush mower, 12 in. and 8 in. augers, back blade, snow plow, extra backhoe bucket that is 24 in. Backhoe that is on the tractor now is 17 in. Has rear tire chains.

Does this seem reasonable? what sort of questions you might have about this tractor? If i were to go look at it what would be worth paying closer attention to?

sorry for more "new guy" questions.

A 48" bush hog is to small for that tractor!

1ernie1,

I bought my L35 a couple years ago after looking at quite a few units. Pretty much settled on the Kubota brand with the top reasons being reliability, durability and close dealer with good techs. I had also owned a Kubota L245 prior to this purchase that was rode hard and put up wet by it's previous owner. It served me well for five aditional years and I sold it for more than I paid for it with little effort.

From what I understand, the L35 was designed as a commercial unit which was important to me as I wanted this unit to last a long time. The price, considering extras (provided they are in good condition), sounds pretty good.

Of course the previous owner of this prospective unit and their dedication to service is paramount. Hopefully you can determine this with some well thought out questions and close observation. Nothing, however, will take the place of having a good mechanic familiar with these machines with you upon inspection. The standard fair of check points include: pin wear, cracks at weld joints, missing or broken bolts and leaks of any kind. And don't be rushed through your inspection.

Fire up the tractor (peferably cold), let run for about five minutes, check hydraulic functions on hoe and loader. Then have the owner take the hoe off, put on an implement and check the draft on the three point to see if it suits you. Mine is quite jerky but tolerable since I've learned to work with it.

The L35 I have has done everything I've asked of it and more. A very capable unit for it's size. Good luck.
