Kubota L3540 Capabilities?

My buddy handles a 6ft brushog with no problem, and a 7ft finish mower with no problem also.

I'd you get a hydrostat, the HP matters more for PTO HP than engine HP, as the hydraulics mean more than engine HP for moving the tractor around.

I'm always a fan of going bigger personally ... if you jump up to a 4240, you also get the next size up loader too.

But the L3540 is a very capable machine.

Is there any benefits to having the front tires filled?

I personally see no advantage. My Brother says it rides better and is more stable..... He's my older Brother,,,,, so I let it go....

I have done all with a L3130 HST(6ft.implements)2-14 two bottom ,but used a roto-tiller instead of disc.R-1filled tires and 4 WD.Use the same on my L4240 HSTC.

The owners manual says you should not fill the fronts. Some people say it helps, but I think it doesn't help enough with stability due to how the front pivots. I'm sure there is more traction, but more stress on the bearings & other axle components. With all the ballast people on the 3pt to take loader stress off the front axle I wouldn't risk it.

I have a L3830HST. My tires are not filled but I have wheel weights on the rears. I have no problems with a 6 1/2 foot disk, 6 foot bush hog or 2-14 two bottom plow. For more ballast on loader work mostly I use my box blade with extra weight chained on, (railroad rail)...it probably weighs around 900 pounds. For disking...I usually drop the bucket off. It rides a little better that way for me.

If you don't want to go the route of filled rears, get some bolt on weights for your tires. That's what I did.

A Grand is going to be a bit heavier than my L3200 HST with R4s, but I went from traction limited to HP limited by loading the rears on mine. Before loading the tires I couldn't really stall the tractor in low, it would loose traction. I can now stall it loading the bucket or sometimes when I'm pulling the box blade if I don't modulate the HST pedal properly. I think I went from 3,200 lbs with the loader to now around 3,800 lbs with the loaded tires for a 32hp tractor. I still need to get to a scale one of these days to validate things.
