Kubota L3800 vs Grand L series

I just checked the Kubota website and the L3700SU is still an offering. I believe the L3800 is indeed a new model to replace the 3700 as the 3200 is to replace the L2800.

A similar situation occurred when they discontinued the B7800 as it was still on their website and available even after manufacturing was discontinued. Once supplies ran out, it was dropped from their website.

At least all of this is my understanding and may very well be wrong.

Montel, I was doing some reading on some other threads and some said that the L 3700 SU is no longer available. I still see it listed on the Kubota site though. I was wondering if you know if they are still available? I don't see much difference between this and the L 3800 either. Looks about the same machine. Any information on that would be appreciated.

I can't see any difference between L3800 and the L3700SU. Maybe they made certain things standard on the L3800 that were options on the L3700SU.

Sorry, apparently, you can get the 524 FEL for the L3800 which gets you about 200 more pounds of lift.

So, it appears that the L3800 replaces the L3400, not the L3700SU. I like all the improvements over the L3400 except the hood. I like the multi-piece hood on the L3700SU, a dent on a part of the hood does not require replacing the whole hood. Since in my experience, most dents occur on the sides (that are removable) it is easy and less expensive to replace a side panel than the whole hood. I guess the new modern look of the hood may entice some buyers, too.

Montel & TripleR thanks for the information. I too have been checking the Kubota site and trying to see what the differences are. I will call a dealer tomorrow and see if I can get some more specific answers. There sure are a lot of different models and it is hard to decide which one would fit my needs best. I am still in the evaluation stage and all of the input is very helpful.
