Kubota L3901 Five Month Review

   / Kubota L3901 Five Month Review #11
Have you ever been to FL? Our ground is sand. And the oaks I can push over are not bigger than 6" dia., do it after a heavy rain (which it does a lot) and raise the FEL as high as it will go, drive into a tree, lower the bucket while pushing forward and as the tractor climbs the tree, the tree slowly comes down. Yes our forests are Scrub oak, aka Black Jack oak and Turkey oak. The Hickory and Pecan trees are still standing ( not many to start with)

Been there done that,

Bugs, snakes & gators. Most days I'll take the snow.

Soil conditions make all the difference.

One time I could not pull a 5" oak with my 9 ton excavator. When I yanked on the 5" oak the 10" oak 3 feet fron the smaller tree moved just as much as the small tree. The roots were all tangled in rocks and the other bigger tree.
So I got out the chain saw, left the stump, and spared the bigger tree.

Other times I pluck 10" pine and birch like they are weeds.

Go tie into one of the hickory and you well find out real quick what the tractor is made of. You well think da-- I'm on a lawn mower. When I'm taking trees down and run across a hickory and the ground doesn't move, then I move on. I can't see working my tractor that hard and tree still standing and is saying to me, "What are trying to do, get out here little boy". Man I have a lot of them on my place, also I have had a hard time with some ceder trees.
