$1655 isn't much of a difference. For that money the L4330DT seems like the better deal. I'm assuming the transmission quoted on the 4330 was the basic 8F/8R FST with shuttle shift...if not it's an even better deal.
What you won't get on the
L4400 that you WILL get on the
L4330 is:
1) about 400lbs. more weight....which is good
2) shuttle shift...no need to stop to reverse direction
3) 9.4GPM flow for the implement hydraulic pump, vs. about 7.4...better for skid steer attachments
4) Skid Steer QA option for the loader
5) Mid PTO is available as an option
6) Telescopic lower link ends on 3pt hitch...nice
7) Tilt steering wheel
8) about 300lbs. more lift capacity at 3 pt. hitch...no big deal
9) More gravitas when posting here on TBN /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif...Grand L owners immediately join the TBN inner circle.
Going the other way, the
L4400 has a couple of more HP than the
L4330. Other than HP, the engines appear to be the same.
I just purchased a new
L4300, predecessor to the
L4400 and am quite happy with it. However, I got in on a model clearout sales incentive that probably saved me $4K over the
L4330 you're being quoted. The above list was compiled using what I can remember from an
L4400 spec sheet I saw here on the web plus what I know about my tractor.
Only comparable Grand L machine my dealer had at the time was an
L4630 HST which was an even bigger jump...besides I wanted gear, not HST.
You'll love either, but for less than $1700 difference, I'd go for the
L4330 if I could swing it.
