Kubota L48 loud. Quieter muffler options?

It seems like lthe M59 exhaust has gotten louder and developed an exhaust leak sound. Haven’t found a leak and suspect it may come thru the muffler? Bad baffle or packing?

Ordered a SS resonator but haven’t installed it yet.

Consider wrapping exhaust with heat wrap cloth tape. Might help with sound and under the hood heat.

Where are you thinking of installing it? I still haven't made any changes to our M59 exhaust - in spite of threatening to do so for years.

Looking at the OEM Kubota exhaust on the M59, it does look thrown together without much thought. It's a hodge podge of idea - including that weird water cooled heat exchanger. My guess is they were confused by those Tier IV Interim emission requirements.

Bottom line is It should be easy to improve on the OEM exhaust. It already seems overly complex & restrictive.

The resonator is 2” in/out and see thru so don’t think I should worry about back pressure. Thinking of installing it on the tailpipe discharge side. Might need a U tube to account for longer tailpipe length. Have some exhaust wrap and SS wire ties to try. Need to study on it more.

One problem with the M62 is front exhaust discharge. Like side discharge on the M59. Redneckgeek made a nice SS elbow for his M62. I bash thru so much tall weeds and brush that I certainly need a finish exhaust that doesn’t hang up vegetation. Vertical exhausts don’t fair well with low limbs and vines in our East Tennessee jungle.
