Rich - I'm in and out. I've been reading and lurking mostly lately.

What kind of chatter are you talking about with your 4-in-1?

Rat, a dealer here in CT told me today that Kubota will be announcing hydro shuttle transmission on some M series models this October.

Mark, When I run at 2200 to 2600 rpm and try and dump the bucket it,jumps chatters and dumps slow. Dealer says that the fluid is trying to go both ways???? and I need a diff. valve for the loader. Didn't you have a problum like this??
Rich
PS Watch out that lurking could be habit forming!

Rich - The problem is that the solenoid operated selector valves don't have enough flow capacity. The fluid isn't "trying to go both ways" - the valve is basically "fibrillating" because the flow through it is too high for it to handle. You need bigger solenoid valves, but a much cheaper fix is to install flow restrictors in the input side of both solenoid valves. Long knows about this problem - your dealer would too if he had called them. Installing flow restrictors has the side effect of reducing the speed of the bucket operations, so I fixed mine by putting in larger solenoid valves.

Was at the Kubota dealer today. Looked at the L48 pretty hard. Nice piece of equipment. The whole set up looks very rugged and long lasting. I wish it came out a year ago. Most likely would have ended up with L48. A few things that jumped out at me today was having to remove the 3pt arms to install the hoe. The dealer told me it takes about 10 mins to remove or install them. But on the other hand, when the hoe is hooked up its very tight fitting to the frame (almost like being welded). Your not concerned with the hoe, right? I did like the operator platform, very open. Another slight thing I noticed is the ground clearance is a little less even with the hoe removed. What are you coming up with for prices on the L48 TLB? I personally think if you don't need the hoe the L4610 is the way to go. But you have done more looking and are by far more knowledgable than I.

Something came to mind. The L48 a four link loader bucket giving you more rollback angle. Also it has a hydraulic self leveler for the bucket. The operators seat swivels 15 degress, and lock, for 3pt work (will also swivel 360).

I was wrong. Go for the L48!! Best of luck

Derek, of all the things about the L48 that impress me besides having a little extra beef everywhere over the L4610 is the loader. Quite a bit more ability in it and a full 45 degree roll and dump. Having 45 deg. roll back is important when your loading the bucket by hand, you can keep it at ground level and get maximum capacity. As you mentioned it has a very nice work platform, swivel seat to the right of 15 deg., it reclines, has hydraulic load leveling, planetary rear drive, and alot of steel underneath not just for the hoe but loader as well. The rear axle is big, the rear lift is good, the hoe hookup has substantial steel, the front loader has great load and breakout force and best of all it has HST and a very quiet diesel. There are alot of things that are similar to the 4610 as well. I'm still looking at all brands but feel the L48 is most likely it. Knowing I could always hook a nice hoe on later keeps me dreaming. Good luck with the 2120, I used one the other day, Rat...

That could be a real bonus for alot of folks. I like the L48 because it has about as much loader as the M9000. I use a Kubota L 4850 with a LA 950 loader so I know what it will do. The L48 has the TL 1150. The number gives the lift ability in KG's. For loader use, its tough to beat hydrostatic. Rat...

That 2120 is working well, so far. Got about 320 hrs on it since end of June last year. 90% of the work done with it is loader and backhoe work. If I knew I was going to use the hoe and loader that much, the L48 is the way I should have went. I'm still young. Maybe I can wear the 2120 out??

Rich or any one using a hydrostatic drive with cruise control. I'm curious as to if and when you use the cruise control on your tractor. The L-48 has no cruise control. I could see a use for it while mowing long stretches, other then that, where else do you use yours? Thanks, Rat...
