I have am looking at a 2005 Kubota L48 TLB with 90 hours for $33,000 and was wondering if that is a reasonable price. The unit is in outstanding shape. Any info appreciated. Thanks

That is a good price, I just bought my 2nd L48 new without hoe for $27.5K. My first one in 2005 was $38K. Prices should be coming down as the model is being discontinued, this month I think. You will not be disappointed with the machine, a liitle slow in M HST but a beast all the way around. Put a thumb on it and away you go!!

Yes I was at my friendly local Kubota dealer this week and he said the L48 is being replaced by the L59 ( could be wrong on that dedignation #, sorry) which he said will be built using M components.....and will not be priced higher than the L48.
My tractor jones is once again resonating.

I was quoted $47+/- for the M59, which is about $5K+ than the L48, currently priced at $39.9K without hyd. remotes. Little bigger machine with a little more price. Looks like a nice machine, especially the tranny.

wow, about three years late! I was quoted 44,000 for l48 with hd bucket, hoe, and front hydraulics. I think I will wait for the new model. They don't offer cruise control on the the l48 hst witch makes it useless for rotary cutting ect.

I wouldn't consider the L48 useless for mowing because it doesn't have cruise control, that will just make you hit more rocks and other obstructions full speed head on.....but then again I live in rocky NH. If you are mowing long fields and such, cruise control would be nice. I have a 5,6,&7' bushhogs and the L48 spins them with no problem.

I'm in the landscaping business and often mow fields that take 8-10 hr's. how would you like your leg in one position for that long? besides, you can push the clutch in or move the cruise lever back just as quick as anything.

I am in the business as well and mow probably just as many fields as you, if not more. My comments where that the L48 is not useless for mowing fields, and I agree cruise control would be a nice feature......if your mowing conditions allow for it. And yes, my leg does get a little bored on long, easy fields. Be the 1st and get the M59 to mow with, we would all love to hear your review.
