So after pushing snow last Monday, I came into my shop on the next day and noticed a puddle of oil on the floor by my right front tire. Figured out that my outer axle bearing went out, taking the seal with it. No big deal on that repair. Separated the hub section, replaced both the inner and outer bearing and the seal. According to my dealer service manager, it's not uncommon with a FEL. Especially for me pushing snow. I have an 8.5' V plow hanging out there as I drive all over town. Although, I did notice at the same time, both of my tie rod ends were warn out. Lots of slop. Unfortunately none of the three local dealers have ever sold them, and they don't see them in any warehouses in the U.S. Which sux cuz we have a new distribution warehouse here in KC. After several hours of research, I figured out that it is a QH Talbros 3239 tie rod end, but I can't find a cross for them.

Anyone else come across this, and or have any help???

For the tie rod ends, I've found it easier to take them with me to O'Reilly/AutoZone/whatever & ask them to let you search through all their stock. Chances are they have it in stock. It took me about 45min, but was good to go after that on my ancient L355SS.

So I have searched, cross referenced auto and tractor manufactures as well as contacted Moog directly. Searched and searched some more. Nothing seems to be compatible. Finally found one rod end at a dealer in Independence KS. Already received it. Guess what, still no grease zerk. So after drilling and taping an old one, to see if it would work, I drilled and tapped the new one. Funny, after I drilled the hole on the old one and turned it upside down, rusty dust fell out. HMMMM, wonder why they failed.

Being on this forum, I have seen many members complaining about the Kubota. Why there is such a negative brand image for it?

Because most posters are here because of problems with their unit or whines about how they were screwed by dealer, happy people don't really post that much other than to defend their product choice or dealer because of people with problems/complaints...

I wonder if the O.P. had any or enough counter weight on his 3pt hitch to take some weight off the front axles with the V plow attached. Which would also put more stress on the tie rods.

The biggest cause for front axles seals/bearing failures I have read about is people carrying heavy loads in their F.E.L.s without enough counter weight on the back of the tractor. Loaded tires alone help with traction but do nothing to counter the weight on the front axles.
