As important as a good dealer is, even a good dealer can be stiffed by the company. Kubota didn't become the size it is by other makers being angels, they grew by others not doing as well in customer service as well as machine performance. For example, I just learned my Deere 5520 had a "silent" recall while still under warranty and, as "silent" warrantees go, I was never notified. You have to complain to get the company to man-up. Anyway, it was for dash wiring issues and potential for fire. So how do I fell about that with it sitting in my barn?
On the flip side, I bought a
B7800 Kubota and the company GAVE new seats to those within a certain SN range. The original had too much of a slope to it and was not comfortable. Oh, I was out of warranty on that but it didn't matter. I got my seat, without asking.
Now, my Deere 5520 is a real beast and I love it but next time I plunk down my very hard-earned cash it will almost certainly not be for another Deere unless the price is a screaming buy. Deere makes some great stuff, no question, but what will the next recall be that I am not aware of? How do I know? I'm not going to chance it. Again, this is just my personal opinion. I love my Deere 5520 but I don't like some of the issues that matter equally.
