l6060 kubota
The kubota dealership wanted over $900 for a set of front fenders so i made my own out of a $40 trailer fender and some leftover steel. Ive got to pick up some small mudflaps still and im not sure i'll stick with the black color. I may pick up a few cans of kubota grey and maybe spray the inside of the fenders with truck bed liner. I built the weight box because i wanted to keep the weight as close to the tractor as possible and i wanted a storage area built in. It was built from salvaged 1/4" plate and has 560lb of concrete with about 200lb of scrap steel mixed in. In hindsight i should have built in a storage spot for fuel cans since the L6060 needs to be fueled so often. Maybe i'll rig up some jerry can holders if i can find a good spot. The plow that it'll be running is getting sand blasted and repainted so i'll be posting some pictures when thats done.

Very nice work! I looked into fenders for my L4060, and got as far as Kubota Canada and big $$$.
I do not weld very well, so fabricating the fenders is not an option for me.
I am concerned about the exposed hydraulic lines at the bottom of the right side loader frame on my tractor, and looking at your pictures reminded me that I need to add a steel plate in front of them. Fortunately I think I can just bolt on a steel plate, rather than butcher it with a welder.
Have you looked at these hydraulic lines? What do you think about them?
Anyway... Great job on the fenders and box.

Amhicks21, nice looking weight box. Can you post a picture of the weight box with the lid open? Is there room inside for storing stuff? Great job on the design and build. Stanley

Looks good, I'm always envious of those who can do such fabrication.

Fenders truned out very nice... Why black and not Kub grey?

Thanks so much! For the work that i do, im not too concerned about the loader hydraulic lines but i could see someone having an issue if they were clearing woods. hydraulic lines are pretty darn tough though and i think it'd take a pretty bad situation to damage em. I actually really like the external FEL couplers because it makes it so much easier to take the loader off than on the l3540 i used to run with the couplers on the inside of the loader arm. The biggest problem i have with hydraulic routing is the 3rd function lines. they literally just hang underneath the tractor and with the little bit of brush cutting i do they have worn down to the steel bands. im planning on having the dealership take care of that though since the tractor has to go on for a few small issues.

Interesting. I guess if you get going fast enough and those tires get to spinning the fenders might actually be functional but I assume these are more for looks.

Here's the inside. Its pretty basic. i didnt really have a plan for what all i wanted to fit in there and in hindsight i probably should have made sure the plow wings would fit if i ever found that i wanted to take them off but theres plenty of space for chains, tools, lunch etc. of course, i still need to paint it but the concrete is still sweating out moisture.

The fender are specifically for plowing and will be taken off in spring. i plow a bunch of commercial accounts in a downtown area so i travel about 10-20 miles on salted roads nightly. the turf tires are great for traction in snow but they throw snow everywhere so fenders are a necessity to keep from covering the glass and the engine with salty snow.

I painted em black because thats what i had on hand. i agree that they may look better grey and i'll probably toss a coat of grey on when i get the chance. i'll probably also either bed liner or undercoat the inside since they'll see lots of salt.
