Hope someone here can point me in the right direction. The LA211 loader on our BX22 developed a problem today (of course, just after the dealer closed for the weekend).

After rolling the bucket forward, down and back to put it in position to push snow going forward, it no longer "bangs" when it stops. (This used to signal that it had reached the end of its range of travel and was in position scrape going forward.)

Now, it quietly stops in what appears to be the same spot as before, but when you begin pushing snow, it rotates (on its own, without touching the controls) farther, past its normal "stopping point", to the point where the "back" of the bucket now contacts the ground, making it really unuseable.

Normally, moving the control lever of the BX2014 valve to the operator's left will make the bucket roll back up, but when it "overtravels" in the above mentioned position, you have to move the lever to the RIGHT to get it to start to curl back up. However, it only moves a small amount, then it "sticks" in about the old "normal" end of travel position. In order to roll it the rest of the way up you have to stick the blade in the ground, move the control lever back to the LEFT and back the tractor up.

Once you get past the "sticking" point, everything works normally as long as you stay away from near the end of the range of travel rolling the bucket forward.

Hydarulic fluid in both the front axle and rear resevoirs are at normal levels and looks perfectly clear. All other tractor functions seem normal.

I assume the problem is with the BX2014 control valve, but I would really appreciate any insight more knowledgeable people than me can offer.

(Is there any point to disconnecting all of the quick disconnects and reconnecting?)

I have a lot of experience with racecars and things mechanical, but not with hydraulic control sytems. However, if a spring, o-ring or piston needs replacing, I'd probably try that with a little guiding advice.

In any case, thanks for reading this and for any suggestions you may have to offer.

Thanks for your input.

So far, though, no luck. I tried fully disconnecting and reconnecting all the quick disconnects and heating the control valve with a hair dryer for about an hour. Neither seemed to have any effect.

My main concern is that I doubt the dealer will even be able to pick it up, much less fix and return before major snow comes to our area on Tuesday.

If anyone can narrow it down to definitely, for example, being the control valve, I could take it off and have it at the dealer first thing in the AM. I thnk the odds of getting it fixed or replaced (uggh$$) quickly would be much better that way.

Thanks Again,

Sounds to me like you've broken off the stops. On the LA243 on the BX24 there are 2 blocks welded to the loader arm that the bucket contacts to stop the travel downward. I think the LA211 is the same. If you've broken off these blocks, the bucket would overtravel and the hydraulics would react exactly this way. The cylinder is actually going "overcenter". Missing stops also explains the lack of "bang" at the end of travel.

I would agree with Bxpanded - I bet that the stops are broken off or bent and the bucket has travelled farther than it was supposed to.

Bingo, THANKS!

I initially found rusty "dents" in the arms and assumed that that was a result of the bucket hitting the arms. I can see now that that was where the stops had been and apparently the welds have failed on both.

Anyone know if Kubota sells weld-on or bolt-on replacements?

Anyone know if there is a picture available somewhere so I can get an idea what they originally looked like?

I guess I can fabricate new ones if Kubota does not sell a repair part.

Thanks Again,
