I went with the upgraded alternator in my 2601. Without it you get a dynamo good for I think 15A at most. Even with the upgraded alternator the rear work light circuit is only fused at 5A and is not switched. If you decide to do LED's in the front be aware that the sockets are wired opposite of a standard car socket, that is the post on the Kubota is ground. You will need to cut and flip the wires around as LED's are polarity sensitive. I did this with mine using Phillips LED's in the standard headlight socket and they work great.
