Kubota LX4020 Already Having Problems

The first issue for me is control. Not having the ability to separate engine RPM from pedal travel distance is is a reduction in control. There are scenarios where I am boxed into a tight space and want the ability to finesse my way around the obstacles without having to be concerned about the machine running away from me.

The other issue is it's not how I want a tractor to behave all the time. The more I learn about this the more I can see it's benefit and it's potential in different work scenarios but why does it have to be mandated instead of a feature that can be engaged or disengaged?

Finally, as I stated in a previous post, that particular tractor is very jerky to drive. When you let off the pedal it stops the wheels so fast they slide across the ground. It has no play or give in the pedal travel distance at all.
Did you have the tractor throttle up high. The linked pedal feature, for most use, you leave the throttle at idle. Use the pedal to ease off the motion.

This thread has me wanting to order the linked pedal kit for my Kioti...

The video operation looks like the way the old shuttle shift tractors (aka skiploaders) operated. Great for loader and box work plus you have the benefit of setting a min rpm or PTO speed. I had 2 tractors like this - setting the rpm in them was limited to a high idle thus it was hard to mow without selecting a low gear. This is an improvement. I'd think i would like it.

Hmmm - "auto throttle" - - similar to cruise control?????? I wonder. I can push my throttle lever to any RPM I want. It will stay right there. Used all the time. The RPM's and tractor speed will change when going up/down hills. The throttle lever DOES NOT adjust the engine RPM nor tractor speed. It IS NOT cruise control. I can increase engine RPM and tractor speed by stomping on the foot throttle.

I can also put the throttle lever in the idle position and only use the foot throttle or any combination of these two.

I leave my hst+ auto throttle on without issue. For the brief time I am motionless I want the idle low, when I press the go pedal I want some rpms behind it. PTO use just throttle up and auto throttle is out of the equation.
There are no issues.

I have cruise control too, so I can select a speed, and regardless of RPM, it will maintain that speed. Great for tilling across a field

Auto throttle is linked to the position of the HST pedal. No pedal, idle. A little pedal, a little throttle, lots of pedal, more throttle. Cruise control locks the HST pedals in place.

They're different but both are useful.

Different tastes I guess. I wouldn't mind the linked hydro pedals.

But as far as your jerkiness complaint.....too bad they didn't do like some tractor brands and put a reactivity setting dial so you can control the reactiveness of the hydro.

I'll have to see if my dealer has one yet and go try it just for the heck of it.
Doubt I'll want it though.

On my Branson 2610h I occasionally wish I could disengage the auto throttle. I usually run the brush cutter in the economy PTO mode and setting the hand throttle to 1850 rpms. In mid range the auto throttle won't allow full ground speed without also raising rpms above the 540 mark. In high range however the 1850 rpms isn't enough torque to mow up hill.
Same goes for cruising down the road. No reason to run 2700 rpms, but that's the only way to access maximum ground speed. My old Simplicity Sovereign garden tractor allowed 80-90% ground speed at any throttle setting.
Overall I'd still am glad I have auto throttle. The above are really just quirks and not significant complaints.
