John:

Dang thing looks like a Kioti and the auxilliary lights are well, feminine.

My wallet is staying my pocket, I'm quite content with the M9, I still haven't found the end of the power band. and the loader is awesome.

A little story:

Just before the Christmas week, you know, my wood milling adventure (I got 20-30 gallon hefty bags full of chips!), the guy who delivered the 6 bunks of 4x6's backed in the side lane and got stuck with his 26 foot Freightliner straight truck. I told him not to worry, I'll just go around back and pick the truck up and move it to the road and that's exactly what I did, no muss, no fuss. Later that week, my neighbor across the road high centered his 3/4 ton Chevy on a big rock by his drive that was in a snowbank. Same deal, but this time I picked up the whole front of the pickup and backed it off the rock. Didn't even need FWA for that one. The M9 is a very capable tractor and comfortable too.

By the way, you need to "unroast" yourself. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nielo, not quite sure what you mean, but I just want to say how much I absolutely LOVE the "banana" pedal on my 5030, the incredible control and "feel" that the "feather step" system gives you, and just what a great hydro I think Kubota has. Smooth, responsive and bomb-proof.

When you're in reverse, looking backwards, your right heel just falls right where it wants to be on that pedal, and you become a part of the machine. Hard to describe until you've spent some time doing it, but I am just so glad that I don't have to reach forward with my foot to press on (hopefully) the reverse pedal on a 2-pedal system. Just beautiful.

And the "feather step" system means that you're not fighting excessive spring pressure as you're putting ponies to the ground. After 570 hours, my leg or foot has never been fatigued once, even after a long day. Remarkable.

The availability of a hydro tranny just might be the deciding factor for you when you decide what to buy. We all have different needs, but I could not imagine not having hydro for what I do. I would be nowhere nearly as safe and productive without it.

As far as the "lead foot" thing goes - maybe you're referring to the relatively common misconception that the hydro pedal is like an accelerator pedal? As I'm sure most know by now, it just regulates the amount of hydraulic fluid going through the hydro - ease off for more "torque" - sort of the hydro equivalent of down-shifting.

Best of luck with your decision, and I wish you thousands of happy hours in whatever you end up with,

John

Good god Daryl, that is one powerful loader. Please tell me you moved the front, then the back, then the front ..... even so the front end must have weighed 5-6,000 lbs! Very impressive.

As far as "unroasting" myself at your "expense" - I just can't find it in me to give you a hard time! Still a little too close to Christmas I guess - try me in another month or so, and maybe these silly notions of mine about peace, love and compassion will have worn off by then - but don't hold your breath. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

John:

One end at a time. Love the comment about the "bananna pedal". Come to think of it, in retrospect it did look like a monkey pickle. Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down...good buddy. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
