kubota m5040 hard to start first time each day

hard to start first time each day. if I pump the plunger on top of fuel filter it will start easily and then no problem starting rest of day.
I replaced the in-line valve near fuel pump but cannot find another. ???????
evidently loosing prime overnight.

Is the fuel shutoff lever going all the way closed? Make sure no air leaks in the fuel delivery lines and the bleeder screw at the top of the fuel filter is not loose.
