Just did it, signed for a M59 TLB today, It wasn't for the price I was hoping for. However, it was the cheapest I could find anywhere, and it was within 25 mile of where I live. I guess you can't beat that at all.

Does all this sound about right, as this is my first new tractor I have purchased.
Yes, it all sounds about right. And congratulations on the tractor. I used mine for a few hours today and was just thinking about what a nice machine it is. Powerful and delicate both.
Glad you got the thumb; it is far and away the most useful accessory. We've got a lot of accessory parts for this one, and frankly most of them don't get used much or even ever. But the thumb gets used all the time. For instance it is handy to use the thumb and BH to lift a downed tree up and hold it in position for chainsawing. Or by swinging the BH sideways and holding the trunk fore and aft you can drive down a 12 foot wide lane while carrying a 40 foot tree trunk. With a little ingenuity the thumb even works to fill the bucket with landscaping boulders.
As for the year, I'm from a rural background and we figure that the tractor's birthday is the year it is manufactured, but that it doesn't begin to age until it is sold. And we figure that the sale happens in the year and on the date that the contract is signed. All this means that there can easily be different dates or even differnet years for model year and initiial sale; they are not necessarily the same year for both. But it usually works out the other way around with the tractor being older than the contract because it has sat on a lot for awhile. If you had found one of those old/new tractors still on the introductory group that many dealers stocked way back in 2008 I bet the dealer would consider it as being new this year even though the serial number would show an earlier date of manufacture. That's why around here, tractors have bills of sale rather than titles.
The price seems fair; glad you could buy locally. I find that having bought a premium model from a local dealer has been worth more to me in service than money I might have saved buying from a distance. As to the insurance, I have mine as an addition to my homeowners - but I also have quite a few vehicles and some professional insurance with one company - State Farm.
I did buy the extended warranty from Kubota and felt it was worthwhile.
Congrats again. You'll sure like it. I'll bet it is going to be a hard couple of weeks waiting! Then comes the break-in, 50 hr service (I changed all the fluids then), and the inevitable things that need tweaking. Some good threads on M59s here on Tractorbynet.
Enjoy, rScotty
