Sorry, I forgot to put where I'm located. I'm located in Smiths, Alabama just outside of Phenix City. I'm willing to drive a considerable distance if price was right. I have seen them as low at $38k, if they have been on the lot a while. A couple of dealers so far, is $48k all are in line with this price. However I know two years ago cost was $38k, because that was revealed when I just missed that deal.

No actually this was new, I understand that this is extremely low for this tractor. This one was an 08, 0 hours, and they were wanting to rid of the tractor. The dealership told me that it was just cost and not a penny more they sold it for. Of course I was too late, however it was listed on Equipment trader.com. They actually have one now in Missouri 2010 for $43,900 minus the hyd Thumb. No I'm wanting a new tractor, I do not want used as I will have to do some financing and will want to take advantage of the rebates and the 0% they offer.

Makes sense for financing. And wow was that ever a good deal on an M59! I too have been looking for a compact TLB and saw that Missouri tractor but I'm leaning more in the way of a 110 just for price.
Good luck on a new tractor. Really want an M59 as well but not sure the budget will allow.

I think the accelerated depreciation under section 179 is better if the equipment is put in service this year as opposed to 2012.

I can understand your wanting to buy new. That's what we did. Actually my wife made me do it.....and that's another story.
But I think you are wasting your time and just courting frustration by basing your search on one weird sale that happened years ago. Sure there was a quick period when dealers were hurting and a guy in the right place and right time all ready to pull the trigger might have save 20%. But not 30%. That is a mite fishy. The tractor market is more stable than that. I've followed it 50 years and it is normally super stable. Dealers are knowledgeable about shipping and that keeps things stable too.
In my opinion a good price on a new M59 now would be $50K - hopefully less. But what would really make for a screaming deal would be to get that price along with the package that Kubota offered when the model first came out. That package included: 0% financing, extended warranty, the extra lightning kit, two BH buckets, the front remotes, the hydraulic thumb, and all the three point accessory hardware.
That's a good place to start a haggle to include things that cost an owner more than they cost a dealership - things like used front and rear implements, manuals, recommended service at 50 and 200 hrs, accessories...maybe that set of wheel weights I forgot to include are still sitting there in the mud....

Been shoping around for the past few months for either a L45 or M59. Want a M59, but only need a L45. So far, the best price I been quoted for an M59 is $47,450 without any of the aforementioned "extras" and around $51,000 with all the goodies. Bad thing, none of the dealers offering best quotes are within delivery distance and it costs at least $2/mile and a dock to get it to the house ($800-1200 extra) which kind of equalizes the field for the local dealers. L45's seem to running about $10,000 less with comparable features.

Just did it, signed for a M59 TLB today, It wasn't for the price I was hoping for. However, it was the cheapest I could find anywhere, and it was within 25 mile of where I live. I guess you can't beat that at all. I called various dealers within three different states. I was fortunate enough to have a dealer within 25 miles to be the cheapest of all of them. I was told it will be a 4 to 6 weeks waiting period, it had to be ordered and built at the factory. If that be the case will it still be a 2011 model if built in January of 2012? I got a M59 TLB with 84" heavyduty front bucket with the bolt on cutting edge. The hoe w/Hyd Thumb for $49,998 out the door. However I did choose the Kubota insurance as my insurance company as that was not included in the price, it was on top of that. My insurance company would never would call me back, and after reading reviews Kubota ins. is not that bad of a deal I suppose. I know homeowners will pay for theft if its at home, but it was so many guide lines and hoops they have included with that, I wonder if it would be difficult to actually obtain if something really happeded. I was told the insurance rate from Kubota was based off the price of the tractor, which come to be $41.00 a month. Does that sound about right for that? Does all this sound about right, as this is my first new tractor I have purchased.
