Traction Kubota M6800 With Cab...Front Differential Hard to Lock In

Been really difficult to operate the lever to lock in the front differential on my M6800 with cab. I briefly got under the tractor tonight and couldn't see anything bent or broken. I sprayed everything with a light lubricating spray while I was under there but didn't notice any improvement.

Help.....

It was quite a PITA to get my M6040 into 4WD until I had operated the lever many times. Your situation sounds like mine - its simply a matter of new gears, levers & systems meshing, mating and operating together. While pulling on the lever - gently shift the tractor from forward to reverse and allow it to move slightly in both directions. Time & use should make this operation improve.

May not apply since it's a much smaller tractor, but on our B2910, a little reverse pedal to engage the front axle and little forward pedal to disengage seems to help quite a bit.

If you have a loader on raise the front wheels slightly to take the pressure off of them, it should slide in a lot easier
