About two months ago I purchased a new Kubota M7060 tractor with cab. My concern is the PTO which is supposed to be modulated. When I engage the PTO (for example using a brush cutter) it starts the equipment with a very sudden jar. Is there a way I can adjust the PTO engagement to "ease" it into starting the equipment?

What engine rpm are you engaging pto(slightly above idle or WOT)?

PTO engagement is a smooth, soft thing with my M6040. The tractor should be at or near idle and I slowly advance the PTO lever. Its just like starting off in first gear with a manual transmission auto. If the newer Kubotas have some form of electrical/vacuum engagement, it can be a jarring situation. Your best bet, in that case, is just to start the PTO with the tractor at idle. I know of no way to "slip the clutch" in the case of an electrical/vacuum engagement.

I believe the connection is electrical controlled hydraulics. They say engagement has "self modulation" , but even at idle it is very jarring.

Brush hogs seldom have a smooth engagement ;just sometimes worse than others.Check to see if your blades are straight before starting and not out of balance.

Let me rephrase the question:

Can the "self modulation" on the PTO be adjusted?

The parts diagram shows an external pto valve assembly on the left side of the trans. There are different valve designs depending on your exact M7060 model (HDC, HDC12, HFC). I'd get the dealer involved - it looks like the valve may not be adjustable. Good luck - Dick B

I have a 2017 M7060 and the PTO starts super hard. Did you find a solution?
