Kubota M7060 PTO engagement.

I have a M8540 that I had the same issue with trying to engage a Rears brush grinder, like a flail mower but about 3 times as heavy, will grind up to 4" diameter wood/ brush. At idle or a little above would stall the engine when I engaged the electro engagement knob, which I'm pretty sure is what you have. The manual lever type that some of my other tractors have you would just feather in no problem. The good news is you can feather the electronic engaged kubotas , just turn the knob on off on off on off while watching the pto shaft it will begin to rotate slowly, once it gets going just leave on. With a little practice it's very easy. Kinda an oversight on Kubotas engineering. B

Does the pto disengage when you push in the clutch? Completely different tractor, but on my L5740 I always push in the clutch, engage pto knob, and then ease out the clutch. Engagement is smooth as butter. The engagement still isn't harsh without using the clutch, just not quite as smooth.

I have a 2017 M7060 and the PTO starts super hard. Did you find a solution?
I have had same problem on my 2014 m7060. shears the pins on pto shaft of my older bush hog on start up even when not under load. Kubota service department in one nearby town told me you can't run any older equipment with shear pins on newer kubota tractors. He said to try using a friction clutch on the pto shaft. I contacted another nearby kubota service department and they said there is a fix that involves installing a smaller orifice in the hydraulic supply to the pto to achieve a softer start. I have not had the work done yet so cannot say if it will work. Have yet to try the friction clutch on pto so can't say about that either.

It's the nature of the design. Using a properly adjusted slip clutch on your mower will make no difference.

Let us know the results of the smaller orifice and cost of installation after it has been done.

Are you starting PTO at idle? If not, try that.
