The Grand L doesn’t seem far off in pricing from the 7060 so I think I will look at the M7060HDRC12. I’d like to get one optioned and priced by my local dealer in Belleville ON to see what they are offering as deals for new and go from there. I see there are three loaders available for them the LA1154E, the M21 and M26. Most of the M7060 I have seen used has the 1154 fitted. There’s no info on the kubota site about the differences between the three loaders just shows 1154specs and says the 1154 is optional self leveling. Is the M21 or M26 self leveling? The 1154 lifts the least but highest then M26 then M21. What are the other differences between these and do most order with the 1154?
I’d like to squeeze in a buddy seat too if there’s room. Thanks all for explaining the towing a boat with a tractor issues.
Anyone bought a tractor up from the USA or miles away from where they are. I’m assuming no issues throwing it on a flatbed.

I think the M21 and M26 are made by Alo Quicke, very nice loaders only available in Canada and outside the US. Too bad we can’t get them in the USA or I would have gotten the M26 loader. If I were you, get the M26 loader!

I am looking at upgrading my L4240 to a M7060HDC12 (was looking at the M4-071, but price was a factor). I know the M8560 and M9060 are phased out. I believe it was the M5 which replaced those and I think it had more to do with the DEF requirement.

In my research I have learned weight is a major factor in putting the HP to the ground. That is why I would recommend the M7060 over the Grand L6060. Pricing is not that different between the two, but weight is.

I asked about towing a trailer and was told most tractors can handle twice their weight for trailer and load. I was looking at hauling my dump trailer into the woods or finding an off road dump trailer. Seems like a lot of weight to me as the specific trailer I was looking at for the conversation did not have electric brakes so I assume they are not requiring brakes. I wouldn't haul that kind of load without trailer brakes.

On the subject of pulling the 9000 lb boat out of the water, are we talking about tidal waters or lake? If tidal, is the ramp built down to low water and is the ramp covered in sand at times? If lake, is the ramp concrete? What is traction like? Will the trailer be on solid bottom or soft?

I'm on a lake and it appears solid bottom, I've walked out to about 5 ft deep. I'm going to put in a concrete ramp as far out as I can, to help the tractor so traction should be good. I got a quote back from my local dealer, around $63K CDN new M7060HDC12 with Cab and loader so I'm happy with my $45Kish budget for used. Definitely going with brakes on the trailer. Looking at Richie Bros, (who doesn't like auctions) would I be right in thinking the larger crop row tractors get up in hours way quicker than a utility tractor like the M7060 so hours wise and wear wise they don't compare?

M7060 would have zero issue pulling a 9000 boat. I am assuming you are just worrying about lauching it, not trailering to 50k to the lake and lauching.

Brakes not needed for off highway use, I've pulled 16,000 lb M7040SU and no issues getting it rolling and keeping at speed. Yes you aren't stopping it on a dime compared to no towed load. Most ag equipment does not have brakes on trailed wagons etc as we are talking 30-40km/h at most. My truck and trailer with electric brakes still takes longer distance to stop at speed than truck alone.....

You won't be happy with too big of a tractor. Large row crop tractor hours can be the same as utility hours, difference is use. Think city driving versus highway. Some utilities rack hours up in the field, some just idling doing light work. I ended up with a new utility because with rebates on at the time it was only a few k more than similar tractor used.
