Kubota M7060 with defective hydraulic ram

I purchased a new M7060HD12 two years ago mainly to cut fields and do some box grading around the place (light duty work). The tractor is two years old and has 94.4 hrs on it. I noticed a couple weeks ago that the tractor had a leak under it so I started inspecting it and noticed a leak coming from the boom cylinder on the left side. I called dealer to come out to review and he noticed a scar running the length of the chrome ram inside the cylinder. His opinion was that the chrome plating had come off of the ram and run up into the seal causing the leak. The dealer went back to Kubota to ask for good faith warranty being that the tractor was out of warranty. Kubota would only cover 1/3 the cost of a new ram only (not full cylinder replacement) and I'm to absorb the remaining $650 for parts/labor. Besides being unhappy with having to spend $650 on something that was a manufacturing defect, is this something that I can file with KTAC or is it too small of a claim? I purchased KTAC insurance with the tractor.

If you are still making payments on it & have KTAC, you should only be out the $200 deductible. KTAC on a new machine still being financed is different than on a used or payed off machine. Not clear on the differences as mine is still under warranty & financing. Need to look at the coverage differences once its paid off.

Since you have insurance, the matter seems to have a happy ending.

Beyond that, here I would have had the cylinder rebuilt at various machine shops or cylinder manufacturers. Not like you even need the dealer to take it off. It can't be that hard, just a bit messy!
