So do you have a foot brake you can lock along with the park feature?

The foot brake does not lock on the 12 speed model.

Yep, I think park means park. It should not move.
Does this tractor have hydraulic operated brakes? If yes, how can you do a emergency braking if you looses the main brake?

So the park feature is the only thing you can rely on for keeping the tractor from rolling?

Sharing your experience is great. But you do not seem to have thought through the ramifications of your actions fully, in order to make tractor operation safer in the future.

Everything you needed to prevent the rollback was there. You failed to turn off the engine and lower the FEL bucket.

There is several uses for the PTO getting connected to water pumps for irrigation and silo feed blowers for. a couple examples and if the brakes don't hold it is a bad design. also the operator should know that when brake lever is pulled , light is on anything short of and earth quake should the tractor move.

But then not everyone knows all the answers ahead of the problem. is operator error .

The OP realizes his mistakes and the proper procedure has been advised and recognized by the OP.

My curiosity is now on the Park/Brake system design and why it "popped out of park"

On my standard L series there is a simple locking lever to hold the foot brake down.

On the M series in question, do I understand that there is no mechanical park brake?

What happens when this lever is placed in the Park position?
The transmission prevents the tires from moving like a car?
Is lever positively locked in PARK?

What criteria must be met to take it out of PARK? (ie: ignition on and foot brake depressed)

I ask all this to better understand if it really did pop out of park or if the operator did not fully engage the lever into the park position.

My suggestion to the OP would be to reread the owners manual on the start stop procedures and verify his machine functions as described. Then test the parking procedures on a slope to verify proper operation. Meaning it holds the tractor. STAY IN THE SEAT DURING TEST.

If any operations do not seem correct then call your dealer for service.
This also documents the issue. If there is one.

The possibility is always there. A shaft could brake. A parking pawl could snap. I have had different equipment act unexpectedly.

Don't assume anything, and just like you don't work under suspended loads, don't work in harms way of equipment on a grade. OR, even idling equipment. shut it off.

There is NO provision for a parking brake on an M7060. No way to lock the brakes on. All you have is the Park position in the transmission.

That's not a new thing. I have an ancient John Deere 2020 Diesel that's the same way. No provision for applying the brake and locking it there. Only a Park slot in the transmission.

Both the John Deere and Kubota work exactly as designed and I've had no problems with either one. OP's tractor must have something out of adjustment.

I get off my tractor with the engine running all the time while logging (winch doesn't work otherwise) and if my brakes aren't locked and trans in neutral the engine dies when I get off the seat. The engineers that designed the system obviously think it is safe to be off a running tractor when everything is done properly

JD thinks its ok to attached implements behind a running tractor and they even give you buttons right behind a huge tire that move the tractor backwards
