Thanks for the comment. However, the Case website returns "No dealers found" here in east Texas. I appreciate that NH is virtually the same. AND, I am actually leaning hard in that direction. The NH dealer has stock, and they answer the phone for my many questions. I have sent them pictures of my old Ford 4000 to get a trade in value. We'll see where it goes.

ASCO sells Case farm equipment. They also sell Mahindra and a few other brands. They just built a really nice new facility on the East side of Tyler, right off of the Loop, behind Aldi's. The newest Walmart is kitty corner across from them. If you are at the Tyler Kubota dealer, Asco is about a mile South of you. Drive in the Right lane until you get to Aldi's. That's also Hwy 31. Turn right and it will be right in front of you.

I have a Case dozer and I've dealt with the Parts and Repair shop quite a bit. They are really good people, easy to work with and very helpful. But I also learned that Case does not support their equipment very well and eventually you will not be able to get parts for it. Fortunately for me, I've been lucky enough to find what I've need at salvage yards in Florida, or had a machine shop fabricate what I needed. Eventually I will probably have to abandon it and either sell it for scrap value, or just let it rust away where it sits. They also push Mahindra tractors over Case tractors there. I haven't figured that out.

If you are open to buying used, have you been to J & K Sales in Flint? In my opinion, they have the best prices out there on used equipment. I've bought stuff from their auction before, but haven't bought anything from their for sale stuff. Inventory is always changing and they always have a lot to look at. If you have some time, it's a good way to look at different brands right next to each other. Climb into them and get a feel for how they operate all in one place.

I've driven both. That by itself really didn't help me. I did notice the Kubota display shows PTO RPM. Pretty cool. I don't know if NH does that or not. I would say the NH is quieter, and the seat adjustment is easier (how often do you need the change that?). I don't particularly like the view out the back window of either, but I think I'll get used to it, after no cab for the last 50 years.

Thanks, everybody -- I think I've settled on the NH. If it works out, I'll post some pictures.

Tractors don't seem to be very photogenic, but here is one of mine doing curls!

I ended up getting the PowerStar 75 over the Workmaster for a couple of reasons:

#1 This one had been in stock for 4-5 months (maybe it was over-equipped?). With the deal I got, the PowerStar was about the same price as the M7060 8x8

#2 Compared to the Workmaster, Powerstar adds radial tires, self leveling FEL, larger cab with opening windows, tilting instrument panel, larger 4 cylinder engine, external drag link lift, moon roof to see high loads, upgraded transmission, swivel seat, larger buddy seat. Front fenders, 64 PTO vs 60 PTO.

I only have about 12 hours on it. Not much to do right now except feed hay, and drag pastures a little bit. I am very happy so far!

Nice looking tractor;
I see that it has the planetary reduction for the front axle.
I prefer that over the bevel and spur gear type that is common on the lighter duty tractors.

when you feed your bales, do you cut off the netting while it's still in the air, or after you put it down?

In the air, so I can get rid of all of it. Always worry about calves (or cows) accidentally ingesting some of the net.

Today was the first time that I ever put out a bale that had been rained on, then snowed on. I didn't realize how hard it is to get off of the bale when it's frozen in place!!!!!

Raise the bale up as high as the loader will go, then drop the bale off the spear. Most of the snow and ice will come off and the net will release much easier.

You are much smarter then I am!!! This is my first rodeo with frozen round bales covered in snow. Hopefully by the time I need to put out another bale, our temps will be back to normal. 8 inches of snow is NOT normal for me!!!

I spent a couple winters in upstate NY feeding 20-30 bales a week that were stored outdoors. Necessity is the mother of invention. I hope a couple snowy round bales are the worst inconvenience you suffer in your unusual weather.
