Buying Advice Kubota M7060HDC vs NH Workmaster 75 vs Kioti RX7320

So, I'm looking at getting a larger tractor. The Kioti DK35SE I've had since 2013 is just too small for what I need to do. My 16 acres has turned into 97 with via inheritance, and mowing pastures with a 6' shredder is getting old. (I usually spray 1/2 of it, but that didn't work out this year).

So, I'm looking at the models listed in the title, all with cab, 4WD, and FEL.

The Kubota is the highest priced, and seems to me to be the least equipped at $47,600. The NH throws lots of options at you for a standard build (air ride seat, radio, instructor seat, 2 remotes, rear windshield wiper, etc) at $41,000. The Kioti is also nicely equipped - has no radio or air ride seat, but has self leveling loader and two remotes included for $41,200.

I'm torn. I have had only minor issues with my Kioti (ignition switch, starter relay, fuel pump actuator), and I'm keeping it. I've never needed a Kioti dealer other than having the one near Houston ship me some parts, but what if I did? The dealer nearest me now does doesn't seem very knowledgeable (he's also the NH dealer).

All things being equal, I would get the NH. It has the instructor seat, which would be fun for my six grandkids now, and may be useful later if they want to learn how to operate it.

Around here (east Texas), the Kubota definitely would be the most popular tractor. Sightings of Kioti and NH are rare to never.

Any thoughts? It's hard to justify an extra $6-7 thousand for a lesser equipped Kubota.

Usually, you get what you pay for.
I bought both my Kubotas slightly used.
They have held or increased their value, even with the hours and wear piling up.
Kubota is a very solid company with a very good reputation, especially in that size range.

Are all 3 hydraulic shuttle or mechanical/clutch? Big difference if one is and the others arent. I’d be looking at that, engine displacement, # of gears and ranges, axle size, etc before the other things. Sometimes guys dont investigate or understand the difference between hydraulic and mechanical shuttles.

Another comment I would make is on your tractor size. I don’t have all the information, but reading between the lines, it looks like you are also moving up in mower size? M7060 fine for a 8-10 foot mower, but pushing it on a 15’ batwing if you have slopes or heavy grass. I had an M7040 that could not handle my 15’ batwing on steep ground.

Like I said, just extrapolating, so maybe you are not moving up to a 15’, either.

I went with the Workmaster 75 over Kubota, MF, and JD. I admit I am partial to NH but did explore the other 3 before deciding. Since Athens Tractor quit being a NH dealer you don't see NH as often. I went with NH again as the cab fit me better and it was the least expensive, since it has standard features that are options for the other brands. I added factory third function, R4s instead of R1s, and 440 pounds of wheel weights. Came in at $46,000 from Four Brothers in Terrell, which I guess you already have spoken to since they are also a Kioti dealer. They are good people to work with, in both sales and service. I added a WR Long grapple and WR Long hay grapple to the package.

So far the only issue was it would not disengage the PTO after using it for long and it got hot. Once I shut it off I had to wait for it to cool down before I could pop it out and restart the tractor. The service manager at Four Brothers worked with NH and they determined the problem was a pressure setting on the PTO valve and fixed it.

All three are hydraulic shuttle. NH and Kioti 12F/12R. The Kubota is 8F/8R. Another few thousand for the Kubota would even it out. My Kioti is a "synchronized shuttle" so I'm really looking forward to the upgrade.

I already have a 10' pull behind mower that I have used with an old Ford 4600. I'm planning on trading in the 4600.

As far as displacement, the Kioti is smallest (2.4L 4cyl), the NH is 2.9L 3cyl, and the Kubota is 3.3L 4 cyl.

NH crows about the fact they are DOC only, with no DPF. I'm not sure how much that matters to me. Any aftertreatment is subject to clogging/poisoning from regular use, or engine malfunction. It is what it is...

The salesman who showed me both tractors has only worked there a short time, and couldn't answer any of my questions about aftrertreatment. But if you have worked with them to a solution, its a vote in their favor...

I did consider emissions while make my decision. If you use the search function and enter regen it may shed some light on the issue. With DOC there is no regen cycle where you have a decrease in power and have to maintain a certain RPMs for a set time. I can just park it and shut off when I am done working. You can't do that if it just went into regen, without causing an issue.

They are owned by the Kelly brothers. I worked with Bryan Kelly, he is the Terrell manager. He answered all my questions and treated me fair on a trade-in.

I like a 3.3L displacement for mowing over smaller displacement. More rotating mass. I also like a 4cyl over a 3 cylinder for less NVH. 10 foot mower easy on flat. Slopes and heavy grass might work it pretty good.
NH or Kubota would be the choice. Dealer is a factor unless you fix everything yourself.

I would have preferred a 4 cylinder but to get that meant moving up to the PowerStar 75. Same 74 HP for the engine but a 4 cylinder 3.4L engine with 65 HP PTO, instead of the 60 HP PTO with the WM75 3 cylinder. Also would have been an additional $7,000 and no R4 option, only R1s.

Hmm. The Powerstar lists for close to $70K, but I will check with them tomorrow for a selling price.

A friend purchased a T75,had all kinds of small problems and promptly traded it for a Case(same co.) 120 H.P.I believe the T75 are built in Turkey.

There you go. If you are not brand loyal, which makes you smart, keep playing the Kubota and NH dealer off each other until one of them EARNS your business.
Youll know when it feels right. Keep researching, asking questions and clarifications. Youll be surprised what you find out on your buying journey.

I took delivery of my MX5400 last week from the Tyler Kubota. I have to say, when it was all said and done, I got a lot for my money. At first, I didn't believe I was getting as much off the MSRP as I thought I was going to, but after adding up all the prep and additions they did to it, I calculated I got about 11% off of the "Build Your Kubota" price. I priced my tractor and implements in Athens, Wills Point and Tyler. The initial quotes were quite interesting. Tyler beat Athens by $1000, and Wills Point by $2000. My salesman has done a great job with getting me what I need. They day the tractor was supposed to be delivered, the Monday after Christmas, the truck driver called in sick with an undetermined return date. They hired a flatbed tow truck to deliver it. Yeah, very pleased with he folks in Tyler so far.

I bought a Case 75A almost a year ago. It's the red version of the Workmaster 75. Check the Case forum for my thread on it. I have around 115 hours on it now and have been very pleased.

Thanks for the comment. However, the Case website returns "No dealers found" here in east Texas. I appreciate that NH is virtually the same. AND, I am actually leaning hard in that direction. The NH dealer has stock, and they answer the phone for my many questions. I have sent them pictures of my old Ford 4000 to get a trade in value. We'll see where it goes.

You know, I sent them a request via their website on Monday... No response. I called the Tyler store and the Henderson store today, having heard nothing back. BOTH stores are closed (since last Thursday) until Monday next week for inventory. What if I actually needed help (instead of wanting to spend money)?

A full shutdown for 7 business days for inventory is absurd. I worked for 20 years at a dealership that did a full physical inventory annually in less than a week without missing a phone call. Yes, it was a huge PIA and noncritical orders and concerns got shuffled. But everything that HAD to happen did.
There's a wanna be major tractor manufacturer that pulls the same stunt, it's ridiculous.

Yeah I agree! ! ! 7 days is crazy absurd. Im glad I got my machine before big shut-down! They still have a disc harrow they need to deliver. I was expecting it this week. Guess I was wrong:laughing::laughing::laughing:
