My M8540DTC with front end loader and 4WD was delivered today. Hydraulic shuttle and 12 speed was more than my budget could handle so I am a little jealous, ha. Good luck with your new tractor.

they brought my tractor monday. it seems like twice the tractor my old one was. it's an awesome loader tractor. i've been working it moving dirt piles and manure. the hydraulic shuttle is great for loader work. i finished some jobs with the 4wd where i used to have a hard time in 2wd. the cab is great also, don't have to ware ear plugs anymore. now i just turn on some music, heat or ac, and go to work. i took the loader off today and put the front weights on. i got all my hay equipment ready to go. hopefully next week we will be cutting hay. bake, i will post some pictures soon.

Congradulations, they are great machines. I,m just establishing my farm here in Kentucky and it makes more sense to let the hay go to seed this year, but it is hard to do with everyone haying around me.

Bill in NY: very nice machine! Which tire size did you get? Are those cast rear rims?

Big Bubba: Congrats on your new machine! Post those pics this weekend!

I'm still considering the open station ROPS model, hydraulic shuttle, 4wd with FEL. Not sure about 8 speed vs 12 speed. What made you both opt for the 12 speed?

Piller: the 12 speed (non creep) cost around 1 K more. most of my fels work, heavy tillage is in low range and although I haven't used it yet, my feeling is that I'll be doing less shifting from high to low. Haying would be a good application If you want, just email me and I'll send you the gear ratio differences in the 4 vs 8 speed ....the ratios are bacically the same from one end to the other, just spread out over 6 rather than 4 (with H or L) to me, a hydraulic shuttle (at about the same price I think) would be far handier if you had to choose between the two. good luck bb
