I applaud the original poster in at least running this by us in the process of his purchase. Much better to deal w/hype than disappointment of purchasing something you later might regret. One previous reply hit it spot on (imho): resale. They all make good products.....if the poster sells his mahindra 2 yrs down the line, the difference in savings may be drowned out w/depreciation. Kubotas just hold their value. If he intends to keep it, then it may well be a good purchase. JUST BE SURE THAT THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE WILL FIT YOUR NEEDS 5-10 YRS DOWN THE LINE. All the best of luck, buddy, I've been there before. bb

I'm a firm believer of You Get What You Pay For. If it has a proven track record Cough up the money and take a load off your shoulders of problems down the road. Analagy is Harbor freight tools to Snap On tool. Some will work some of the time but others will work all of the time. If you are buying to use commercially look and see what others are using...

This thread didn't go well, I grant you that, but the premise was all wrong from the get go. Asking us why Kubota costs more than Mahindra? The assertions were strange. The OP clearly wanted the Mahindra from the get go and some of his/her posts were long commercials for that brand. Remember, this was posted in the Kubota forum. The OP began by admitting he/she was venting. Venting what? I found it all strange and frankly, the responses were not as brutal as other threads sometimes get. Forgive me, but coming into these open forums requires some thick skin sometimes and particularly the absence of a chip on one's shoulder. This isn't brain surgery or an attempt to solve the need for world peace. It is just what it is. An open forum. I dunno.

By the way, whatever happened to the "cent" key on these new computers ? You know, the small letter "c" with the vertical line coming down the middle.

Hold down the ALT button and press 0162 in that order one at a time on the keypad and then release for the cent ¢ symbol. If you have a laptop, you need to use the keypad numbers in the letters and not the numbers across the top.

On topic, I too was thrown off by the incredibly high price tag of Kubota compared to the local John Deere, Mahindra, Kioti, and New Holland dealers. That plus the ridiculous 2 year warranty that is cut to 1 year if used commercially.
I don't need an extensive dealer network, just one that is within reasonable distance that does warranty work and stocks parts. Although, 4 years and 380 hours later I have not needed a dealer or parts anyways.

You also need to remeber that its possible that some of the posts that you read here where posted by people working for the tractor manufacturer. It does happen. I've deleted postings on some of my other websites that where made from corporate offices of some of these companies. I'm not saying that happened here, but it does.

Out of curiosity, I went on the Mahindra forum and read some of the posts by the OP and it appears he really was doing a lot of honest research on the best bang for the buck and just couldn't handle the extra cost of the Kubota. I can sure understand that.

I still don't think he was treated unfairly on here, but if I did I apologize.
