Code, im trying to think what my dealer told me, dont quote me on this, but im almost positive that it was #100 per set, and you can add up to three sets. Or somewhere close to that.

One point often overlooked when considering turbo vs. non-turbo is elevation. With 3% power loss per 1000 ft for a naturally aspirated engine, at our place (9000 feet) the MX4700 would be down to about 34 hp. Even at 3000 feet, the 4700 is down to 43 hp, so the difference is more like 8hp than the 4hp mentioned above. At sea level, I'd probably go with the MX4700. Higher than about 2 or 3 thousand ft, I'd probably go with the turbo MX5100. But that choice will be different for everyone.

Can you post photos of wheel weights? Would like to see if they interfere with tire chains in any way.

Hi This is my first post. I have been lurking here while trying to decide which tractor I want. I joined today because I wanted to give some up to date pricing info for someone else. I narrowed it down between L4600 and MX4700 hsts with fels. I had priced the 4600 locally for 25,400 no discount for cash. Decided they really werent in the tractor selling business so called a dealer 90 miles away. Went to see him today and got prices on the MX5100 also. His price,delivered to my door, for the 4700 hst with R4s, fel, loaded rears and hooks welded on the bucket was 24,737. His MX 5100 price delivered the same way was 25,538. I was interested in the 4700 because I read on here there was a 2% surcharge in Texas on 50plus hp tractors. I asked him about that and he said he'd never heard of that. I said I would be back next week with the money for the big one and he said just call him, he'd have it delivered and I could give the driver the check. What a dealer. He also gave me the website where I could go to get my state ag permit. This is a great site and there are tons of good info here. Thanks Cris

Congrats on the tractor - I ended up in the same boat, for just a few hundred more I could get the MX5100 and I couldn't pass that up. I'm very glad I did. Enjoy

the truth is there isnt much price differance between MX4700 an MX5100.so in my mind for the money differance you go with the MX5100.

That price seems pretty good considering the new increase, Payed $24,500 for mine, then another 8600 for the BH92 Backhoe, I have 18hrs on it now. it's got plenty of power but I don't use the PTO and thats where the extra 4 horses from the MX5100 would be a benefit, other than that the MX4700 is a great dirt machine for me. it is very stout to, I just pulled in some big white oak logs this afternoon with no struggle what so ever..I only run it no higher than 2000rpm and it seems to do very well, if you run with more throttle it will drink more fuel but everybody has said that, it does have a smaller tank than other tractor this size.
The loader is a beast!! get the quick attach frt bucket if you can, well worth the money. do I regret making the choice going with the MX4700= not one iota, love it..
If you are going to do a lot of PTO work like bush hogging, finish mowing, baling hay -stuff that will need that little bit more high rpm power, the 1400.00 more for the MX5100 would be the worth it, but if not than no keep the money in your pocket and buy another implement, thats what I did..View attachment 273007

Weldermike - if I may ask - how much do the wheel weights weight and about what do they cost? I would LOVE to add a little more "non" 3pt weight

Well the wheel weights finally came in, got a call from my dealer, and he installed them, did some service work, picked up and dropped off and I still dont know what they cost or weigh, but ill find out when I pay him. Ugh,lol. Heres some pics tho. Thought they















would have been orange. I would have painted them and installed them myself if I knew they were black. What do you guys think? Remove and repaint? Or leave em. There kinda growing on me.
