I am looking to purchase a 4wd 50 hp tractor. I am interested in the Kubota MX5000 or the m4800. I will be using a loader. Has anyone had any experience with these 2 tractors?

I bought a m4800 last march, i went with it over the m5000.
It was about a $1000 more but it is a lot more tractor. also you can put a bigger loader on it. Thats part of the increase in price. havent had any problems and i think it is the most tractor for the money. I would load the rear tires. I didnt when i bought it but on the 50 hour service i had them loaded and it makes a world of difference. Good luck

The M4800 is more of an ag type tractor where as the MX5000 is based on a compact tractor.

We have them both out and as much as the 4800 has been the heavier of the two the 5000 seems to stand up to what it's supposed to.

I had a 2003 BX1500, 2004 B7610 and now a 2005 MX5000. It's quite a tractor and love it. I just put a new backhoe on it and love to play in the dirt.

I have a 4wd MX5000. I have been very pleased with it. The only thing I would have done differently is had them put draft control and hydrolics on it when I bought it. I had a little compact tractor before, but grew up using 45 to 50 hp tractors on my dad's farm. This is a real tractor. The only problem, is if I'm not careful, I can break the smaller sized equipment I had from the little tractor. The 4wd is awesome.

I had an MX500. It is an adequate tractor. But HP is not everything. a larger frame and weight of the M series on the 4800 will give you more leverage and traction for the FEL operation and overall versatility for ag applications down the line. It's a lot more tractor....on jobs that would spin out the mx wheels are now a cakewalk on the 7040 for kicks, look at the M 5040 for that HP range. But know it's higher than the 4800 bb

I agree. If I farmed full time, I'd have gone bigger. I did have them put water in the tires (all 4) and that helps. I use the 4x4 more then I thought I would and probably more then I should have too.

I priced mine in comparison to a 50 hp Massey F. and I feel like I got more tractor for the money with the Kubota.
