We have 20 acres we have to grade a 600ft driveway, some heavy brushoging, and move about 60 5 by 5 round bales in the winter.Would the Kubota MX5100DT be good foe our situation?

It should do all those things without any problems...though you may want to move the round bales using a 3PH bale spear. I'm not aware of how much a 5x5 bale weighs, but if it's much over 800 lbs., you'll want some ballast in the back even if your tires are filled. A bale that's already on the 3PH spear would probably be plenty of ballast for a second bale being carried on a loader spear.

BTW, Welcome to TBN!

The bales wieght about 1200lbs. give or take i have to move the bales up and down some hills some steeper than others will the tractor handle them safely?

I own an MX5100DT and own 18 acres of land that I bush hog with a 72inch rotary cutter and the tractor works great for that. I'm in the market now to purchase an implement for gravel driveway grading but since I haven't made a purchase yet, I can't tell you how good it works. I'm trying to decide between a box blade like the LandPride MR1572 and the new LandPride grader scraper GS1572. My hunch is that either will work for driveway grading. I've only got about 20 hours on the tractor but absolutely no problems so far. Good luck.

Are you getting a FEL with the tractor? Get the ballast box so you can counter weight all the work you do with the FEL. My MX5000 did a great job with 800 lb large square bales.

I have an MX5100 but I'm selling it (upgraded to a M7040 to make large round bales). The 5100 will move round bales just fine, but make sure you've got at least 500lbs + of ballast on the rear otherwise you'll be bouncing around. Ballast boxes/barrels are easy to make (under $50), don't bother buying an actual ballast box from the dealer, it's a waste of money.
