Here is how my dealer sold me on kubota vs. JD....Kubota manufactures every part of their tractor...JD does not, therefore the price mark up on JD parts is out of this world because they sub contract everything through multiple vendors before you receive the product. Point in case... Yanmar engines in JD. I know Kubota parts can be a little salty at times and maybe it was a sales pitch, but I like the comfort of ONEanufacturer for everything. When they start selling Kubotas at Home Depot, we may be in trouble! Just saying.

I'd be very surprised if Kubota actually manufactures all their components....that sounds like salesman BS.

Yanmar makes outstanding smaller diesels engines, BTW. They're used in both industrial and marine applications.

I am very familiar with just about every diesel engine on the market from Onan, Yanmar, Cat, Izusu, Cummins, Detroit, etc because thats what I do for a living, however you rarely find a company that manufactures everything from wheels up and I do believe Kubota is one of the few. JD does make diesel engines, just not for their CUT models.

I'd say from looking over our Kubota they make the majority of the parts but not all.
I believe the wheels were made here. JD is made all over the place, some
of they tractors are made in India, some of welds on them look terrible. The
4000 series we looked at had a starter from Turkey.

Reckon you've never been on a 790. First gear low range...well, I got in a race with snail once while in 1st, Low.
The snail won...

That should do it! You're right, no seat time on a 790, but there's a place set aside in my shop for a nice A or B once I get a bit caught up on other stuff. They'll crawl pretty slow too, although it would be highly undignified to put a rotary tiller behind one. I grew up with the old Fords and Fergusons (although I'm an IH guy at heart).
