Kubota Oil or Aftermarket?

Silly question maybe, but is there supposed to be a specific oil for Kubota diesel tractor engines. I just use the regular oil I use for the car in the tractor and thats 10w30.

There is a difference between diesel rated motor oil and gas engine oil. I certainly would not use the oil I put in my gas engine truck in a diesel tractor or truck. There are different additives in the diesel rated oil. Somebody on this board can probably give you a better explanation. Diesel oil does get more and different contaminants in it than gas engine oil does

Things like that happen a lot in the petro business. We have a refinery in the area and most the gas in the area comes from this refinery with the different vendors adding their addatives (that is if they do) to what they re-sell.

Just got back from the dealer today after buying 2 quarts of New Holland oil (best price) to tide me over during break in. The parts guy told me Kubota and New Holland oil are the same and made by Chevron. He also said if your tractor is serviced there (they sell Kubota and New Holland) it will get New Holland oil and or hydraulic fluid. Will the truth ever come to light???? So far I have gathered that Kubota and New Holland oil is made by either Chevron,Valvoline, or Shell. Will the real manufacturer please stand up!!!!!
So far what I've gathered is that as long as it's not an off brand they are all pretty much equal. New Holland brand was much cheaper than Kubota. Even cheaper than Wally World.

My kubota dealer told me the same thing. They also used New Holland oil in all their Kubotas. I also bought the New Holland engine oil. If the dealer stands by it and says it won't void the warranty, well that's good enough for me.
