Id highly recommend that you operate both of these before buying. Saw at least 2 people bashing the treadle peddle and those are pretty biased opinions that you need to decide on your own. If Kubotas treadle HST was as bad as they just made it up to be Kubota wouldnt be one of the best selling tractors for decades...
Ive owned (3) 30-40 hp Kubotas over the years. Loved each of them. Ive also owned 2 Kiotis (CK3510HST and CK4010SE). Both had the side by side hydro peddles. I personally do not like the side by side peddles. Even with 100+ hours of use I dont care for the side by side peddle. When you are doing a lot of backing up (Ive been clearing land for 3 years and do a lot of 3rd function grapple and box blading/landscape raking) the side by side peddles are very awkward to hit the reverse peddle when you have most of your body turned around looking backwards your foot has to contort at a weird angle and its weird pushing forward to back up.... If thats all youve ever had... than youd get used to it...
Several of the tractor manufacturers have made very convincing sales videos talking about how awkward the treadle is but to me it is very useful. When you learn that you can place your foot in so many different positions and still operate it, its much more useful to me. You can operate it traditionally with your toe and heal, or you can hook your toe under it and lift up to back up, or you can turn your body sideways and operate the reverse with your toe or heal... If you stepped up to one of the Grand Ls, their treadle is Very useful but they are very expensive tractors.
All this to say that you should never eliminate a tractor and not even consider it because of someone elses opinion Unless maybe they are plagued with issues or something. There are thousands of Kubota owners out there with no complaints.
Also you were right in your initial post that you are comparing a basic economy tractor to higher end model. Kubotas are expensive hands down. Both will probably give you years and years of trouble free use. I wouldnt hesitate owning either.
One thing to consider.. If you ever need to sell or trade it... Will the LS be easy to sell or keep its value? I post that as a question because i have no idea. I can speak for the Kiotis. I bought the CK4010SE new. Immediately regretted not buying a bigger tractor. I Was trying to replace a 50hp skid steer. Thankfully the dealer knew it wasnt the right tractor for me. I paid cash for it when i bought so i got a big discount vs financing and the dealer steered a buyer to me.
The CK3510HST i bought used for a good price and sold for more than i paid for it when i was done. However, after having sold two Kiotis, i can tell you from first hand experience that the market you are selling to is mostly uneducated and I had a dozen or more people tell me that I should be more or less giving these tractors away because they are Chinese junk and not Kubotas... Or they are knock offs of Kubotas... Clearly people dont know... They know Kubota, JD, Case, NH... But they dont know anything about the Kiotis (Who make Bobcat Tractors), TYM (who also make Rural King brand tractors), LS (who make NH smaller tractors), or that JD smaller tractors are mostly all made in India, and so forth. They just assume that if they arent one of the big names, they are Chinese junk...
Clearly not true! Kioti makes some darn nice tractors, but convince the acreage owner who wants a brand new Kubota for the price of a lawn mower and expects you to give them your Kioti for free.. There are a lot of uneducated people who do no research and the sales process of the Kiotis was much more frustrating than the Kubotas over owned over the years.
I just ordered a new Kubota
L6060 because Im in love with the HST+ transmission. While i was at the dealership they had a 2009 Kubota B29xx tractor that they just took on trade, that was more or less a giant lawnmower. They sold that tractor brand new to the guy in fall of 2008 and he traded it in on a new B series but with a loader. It was 12 years old. They sold it to him new for $9500 and gave him $6500 on the trade for a new One after 12 yrs of use. The machine looked like new, you could tell it was well cared for since it was primarily used for mowing.
It may not hurt to ask the LS dealer what it would be worth if you traded it back in 3 years or 5 years.
