far as I'm concerned it all distills down to dealer location and support and at some point you will need a dealer and a marginal dealer will be just that. Why I run Kubota's. Have an excellent dealer close by and in my personal opinion, Kubota is a better built unit. Your opinion may differ, you choice. be apprised however it's your buck, spend it wisely.
That’s part of my dilemma. Will there a be good dealer in southern MT, northwest WY especially if I went back with a Kioti.

Amazing to me that Kubota retains 50% market share of the compact tractor market in the USA.
Is there a website or something, where the public audience can check these market shares across all brands for the US market?

I think is there was something like that, it would surprise most people here.

Dealer selection will be pretty sparse in those areas. Maybe you should look at what brands are available in your target area to help make the decision. It does no good if there's a "great" dealer of Brand X where you are now, if there is no dealer anywhere near where you end up moving to.

It would be nice if all good dealers also had good parts and service departments - but that's not always the way it works.
What are you looking for in a "good dealer", and how do you know it when you see it?

It’s a combo of gut feeling, feedback from customers, and ground facilities. I know the Kioti dealer I bought from is 3 hrs but one opened an hour away. Yea except it’s small and not real friendly staff.

I rate any dealer by their service department, not the showroom and I go in and look at what they are working on and what they are doing and if I'm told I cannot be in there, I scratch that dealer off my list. You can have the nicest showroom anywhere but if your service department sucks, the whole place sucks. Bottom line.

At my dealer, I can walk into the service area and talk to the techs and no one says a word. In fact the owner encourages people to look around before purchasing a tractor or a mower or an excavator and get a 'feel' for the place and his employees, one of the major reasons I have done business with him over the years and my last 8 Kubota's.
