Kubota or Massey

My Kubota will be 10 years old next month. No trouble other than power steering that was covered under warranty in the first 2 years. It has 814 hours and is going strong. If I felt the need to upgrade it would be a Kubota.

I suspect resale is better with a Kubota, but I have no data to back that up.

My experience is geared more towards the Massey. I currently own a 1552 myself, cab model and I love it. My previous tractor was a MF 1433V and I really liked that one as well. As far as retail value, I had my 1433V for 6 years and I traded it in on my 1552 and the dealer gave me what I had originally paid for it; that seems pretty good resale to me.

My neighbor has a Kubota and since she is a single mom trying to do everything herself, I have had to work on her tractor, mess around with attachments etc. There are a few things I don't like about her tractor, but hers is more of a garden-sized unit so I wouldn't be comparing apples to apples.

Dealer service is really a big thing in my book and it sounds like either one is good to you so you're starting off in a better place than most do. Good luck with your descision!

And that is why when we went looking, we decided to buy new. They hold their value so well, and good luck trying to find one on a dealers lot, and if you do, it will not last long. I really do not think you can go wrong either way.

I am new on here, and just bought my first tractor, (from my uncle) I bought a Massey Ferguson 1190, it has a water cooled 60 hp 4 cylinder engine with a turbo and is a 1996 with 1061 hours. I have been reading the threads on here and was just wondering who made this tractor for MF, Was is Iseki ?, if it was is that a bad thing ?.......It sure does run sweet and seems to have alot of power, I am very happy with it as it is in like new condition, I guess that's all that matters, but I was just wondering who made it for Massey.....I probably should be more worried about how to operate it instead (LOL).......I paid $14,000 for it and have probably did that much in damage to the yard already !......LOL......in any case any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully others will chime in, hopefully JerryG for sure. I am under the assumption that everything from the 1100 series up is built by Iseki.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the info. Pardon me if I sound stupid but what is pis ?...........Like I said I'm new to the tractor stuff but I'm wondering how I survived without one all this time, It's done alot of work already.....I just wish I could run it better but that will come with time.......right now I'm being patient,carefull and learning.
