What was the problem with the paint gun, and how was it resolved?

I really don't have the whole story. It was a portable spray rig with its own compressor. One theory was the compressor was worn and no longer putting out enough volume and pressure. The shop bought a new unit but they said the paint still didn't cover - needed several coats. Another theory is the primer hadn't hardened enough so the first heavy top coat got runs in it. Good thing its only a snowblower.

Next time I head to Shelbourne Falls, I will have to come by and check it out...
