Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

Dear Mr Alderman,

There is another very important issue here that you seem to be missing. In so much as you currently believe that there has been no benefit to your dealership, I would like to suggest that you could have used this to your advantage had you thought about this a little more.

Yes I'm sure that other dealers might not have necessarily appreciated you posting your prices but for those of us ,like myself, who are about to make a major investment in a piece of equipment like this, realistic information on true market value and pricing will have a tremendous impact on what I (and others) buy and how much I spend. Yes, I may use this information to negotiate with my local dealer, but you can be assured that every time I have a conversation with another individual, whether online or in person, I'm gonna tell them about you and your dealership. Isn't that what every penny you spend on advertising is supposed to do? I would bet that your best form of advertising is "word of mouth". Provide people (everybody) with a reason to talk about you! Get them to pay attention!
Don't you think it is safe to say that if you increased your sales by 10 units per year or more you would be happy? Your locals won't stop coming to you because you take care of them. I can say for certain that more people will come to know of you and your dealership than not by keeping the information there. After a while this thread will go away and so may some of the traffic to your web site as the result of your decision. I am making my first SERIOUS tractor purchase here and I want the real scoop. No, I may not be able to realistically buy from you, but you can bet your cushy little deluxe seat that I'm gonna tell everyone I talk to that you exist. ****, I may buy from you to spite my local dealer. For me you will become just like all the other dealers websites....NO HELP!!! you'll become nothing more than a billboard for Kubota which means that I can go directly to their website and never find out about you ever, unless you happen to be the dealer in my immediate area.
All I know is that despite all of the conversation preceeding my post, YOU ARE MAKING THE WRONG DECISION!!

Respectfuly submitted

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

I wonder how many non-registered readers actully used your pricing AND bought from you? Heck this post made Cowboyjg register but he was using it to get a good feel for prices. Maybe a lot of others did as well. Some of them in Michigan I'll bet.
I looked at several Kubota dealers, me knowing nothing of their service. I was getting prices all over the spectrum. Now, If I had known of your site, that may have been enough to travel from Ohio to get a good price.

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

OOPS! My fault, I am the one who posted the erroneous information about why it was taken down. I probably did not read Mr. Alderman's email to me correctly. Sorry for any confusion I have caused.

I understand Mr. Aldermans' position since I have several websites myself. It takes a lot of effort to keep a website updated when you have pricing on it and he has to get a return on the investment in his time.

One thing I have seen on websites is having to give the site your name and an email address and then they email you a price. That is about the only way that Alderman's could tell if they were getting any business from the site.

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

In my case, if you have the best price on a item I want, I'll buy. Even if it takes pick-up over 5 states, I just ordered from a dealer 500 miles away!

It is not a Kubota, but the dealer I'm purchasing from sells Kubota. They would not quote a Kubota, they told me they couldn't due to Kubota policy and I had to go to a local dealer.

Seems to be a contradiction here!

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

That is understandable since it became a burden of administrative time without a return on your time.

What most people would be happy with is if Kubota would post the list prices of the tractors and let customers make their own decision on what they feel is a reasonable price to pay.

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

Look folks.....It's really pretty simple. btolle....no disrespect intended but your not that special so don't take credit for the erroneous info.

My post could have gone on for quite some time, given that there are so many considerations for me regarding the purchase. THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOR ME!!! What I want as a consumer is to be able to go info gathering and actually be able to gather the info w/o having to go to the dentist to get it.

Yes, it is alot of work for Mr. Alderman. But if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Sure it's a cliche but a rose is still a rose.

I live in Florida most of the time...Tennessee not enough of the time and am looking at dealers in Fl, Ga, Al,Sc,Nc,Tn, Ky, Va, Ill, Pa and Oh.

I donn't know how many of you have $30,000 sitting around to buy a tractor with, but to me, that's a small mortage.

I want as much info as I can get and yes price will be the most important part of the decision...not the only part, but the most important part.

Business has become about the bottom line!!!! I am not short changing anyones need to be smart and make money at their business...The problem I have is that the money has become what it is all about. I'm not trying to be rightous here but it appears that business has forgotten about the business of it's customers.

Wow...sry, off the box.

I own a small business. I want as many people to know about me as possible!!! I also recognize that no one avenue will get me all the customers I need. I also realize that an informed consumer is my best customer! On the same token I feel it is important that I help educate my customers so that they may become more informed consumers.

If you don't ask, you'll never know!

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

Thanks for the post Tim. How about leaving the pricing up on your website for all the different tractor models and accessories and just don't list your sale prices. That in itself would be extremely helpful to us tractor shoppers as we would be able to tell what was in our price range (or wish list) and not have to price out 4 or 5 different models. I can't imagine anyone would complain about that and you wouldn't have customers just shopping you....

Well Tim - here's my 2cents, if it's that much of a bother to answer emails and take phone calls from web site traffic - then you really should consider shutting down your web site alltogether - really - JUST DO IT Tim ...

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

I respect your desicion if it has become a problem. I did enjoy looking at your site and getting some prices to go off of.

The way I see it is that your customers are still going to buy from you and with your website you might pick up a few more here and there. I also liked the idea somebody else had about just posting MSRP and not your discounted prices.

Thanks

Re: Kubota pricing link doesn\'t works at Aldermans.com

I'm tractor shopping and like the Kubota's, but this post has hit home for me. I can't understand why I can't find any pricing from Kubota on their tractors. I don't like that I have to call so many different dealers for pricing and still don't know if I'm getting a good deal. I see that a dealer who replied here doesn't want to post pricing as it is to much work. Also, I don't know if I agree with the philosophy of "dealer and then pricing". How often am I going to have to bring my $25,000 Kubota into the dealership? Are we going to have that close a relationship? I went with that thinking last year when I purchased my new Suburban and spent $2,000 more then I should have. I have never seen the sales guy again who at the time was my best friend..... I wouldn't might picking a dealer first if the pricing was close across the board. Unfortunately it isn't. From what I've seen the pricing can fluctuate $3,000 on a $20,000 tractor. I called a Kubota dealership in California, but they said I would have to show up to purchase the tractor, so I am confused when the dealer on this thread said that isn't the case? Just wish tractor shopping was easier and didn't feel like I was getting taken. Perhaps it would be better if Kubota did care who buys what from where and at what price......
