As I struggle with the search function, maybe you guys can make suggestions for me. Both my neighbor and I have 2016 Kubota tractors; mine is the 2501, his the 3301; both are HST with FEL and Box Blades. We would now like having rear hydraulics on both units and mostly for use with box blades but also for additional equipment we might buy and share with one another. I talked to our Kubota dealer about having them install something but seems they know little to nothing concerning our L models. Any chance you guys know about doing this on the L models? if so, we would appreciate any info very much!

Should not be a problem. Kubota offers up to three rear remote valves as a factory option.
My dealer also installed a top and tilt kit but I don't know if those were a Kubota part or not.

Good the hear this; now if my dealer whom I like knew something about installing them. I think factory install is quite different than dealer install sometimes...should have thought of having this before, maybe could have ordered my tractor already set up for it.

A HydrauLink Top Link is very helpful when operating a Box Blade, Rear Blade, Landscape Rake or a Roto-tiller. Easy to swap between neighbors. About $250.

Think long and hard about just how many remotes you want and what your future needs may be. I have 3. And while not all at the same time, I do use all 3. Two are tied up with a top and side link. But its nice not to have to unhook one of them when I put the drawbar on and pull the transport disc (hydraulic wheels). And will sometime in the future be getting a rear blade with hydraulic angle.

Now there is really only 3 options.

1. Let dealer do everything. Probably run you about $1200+ for a single remote and $400 more for each additional.
2. Get parts from the dealer and do it yourself. Probably cost you ~$800 for a single and $350-$400 each additional
3. Buy your own aftermarket parts and do it all yourself. I did all of mine on my MX and came in under $500 for 3. But this isnt for a beginner.

I'm with LD1. I use all three on my Kubota. I use all two on my Ford. You can't have too many.

We don't know your mechanical abilities so don't take anything we say the wrong way.

I'd go to my dealer and talk to the parts department about "Whole Goods" kits. Kubota makes them for your tractor. That's what the dealer would use to add rear remotes. The Whole Goods kits come with everything you need in regards to parts. They also come with excellent instructions including pictures of the install.

If you are mechanical at all you can install rear remotes. This would save you 40-50% of the cost.

If your dealer can't help you with this, try another dealer. If going out of your locale and ordering online I'd suggest Messick's. They are a sponsor here. I've ordered several parts from them. If you are unsure about what you need, call them.

Here's a link.

I ordered my Kubota with three and I think the dealer installed them. One other option at the time was if you want any of them with a 'float' position.

Yep. Depending on the tractor, it will come with the minimum. Usually one. If you purchase it with more the dealer will install them. That's why I discussed "Whole Goods" kits. That's what the dealer uses to add remotes.

Sometimes the Whole Goods kits offer options as to the type of valves added. Normally tractors come with a SCV (Self Cancelling Valve). Then if more are added they are usually Float Valves.

LDI and OVRSZD - I used to be pretty handy when on the farm but that was long ago. Being a retired electrical engineer, I haven't spent much time in the old shop for many years so I will want to have a quality dealer do the work. Mostly I mow our old pasture, maintain 2000 ft of driveway with some veggie gardens thrown in and using a walk behind tiller for that. We have a trac hoe when needed for clearing some old stumps to reclaim some ground plus doing water pipes for our trees. I bought this L model because my Dad's stuff is just old and pretty worn out now. I'd like to add top and tilt for the box blade plus have hydraulics for a PTO flail mower that I can move left or right for fences and mowing between the Xmas tree rows etc...When asking my K-dealer last fall about this he did not seem to know much at that time, maybe this has changed now....If having the hose connections in the rear, can I switch between the top and tilt and the flail mower? or do I need separate hoses for each? I won't be tilting the mower, just the box blade. Thanks for the help on this, really appreciate this site...
