Re: Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo\'s ?

Saw my first RTV900 in Columbus at the Power Show. The one they had listed for $11,199 (21 horse diesel, 4WD, 3sp hydrostatic drive, brush gard, turf tires, hydraulic dump, ROPS, hydraulic brakes, etc). It is homely but is by far the best their is on the market for the money. Compared to the other brands, it is under priced. JD had their new 4x4 their with a gas v twin engine and belt drive and list was $12K. What a joke JD has become.

Bob,
I saw it at the Power Show too.......wasted 30 mins trying to get some good pictures of it. All you would have seen would have been people all over it.
I'm sure it will be in Louisville as well.

John Deere's new 4x4 is only $8999. I'm not sure why it's a joke. It's got 4 wheel independendent suspesion, disc brakes, hi and lo cvt, the best stability of any utility vehicle, can haul 900 lbs. and tow 1300 lbs. It may not be all the kubota is but it sure isn't a joke.

Yeah, it will be at the Louisville show. Hopefully I will get to attend that show.

If y'all haven't seen it yet...checkout this URL for pics & info onthe RTV900:

The Gator isn't a joke (more or less...depending on what you want to do with it), but you get far less for your money with it compared to the RTV900.

I must of missed you there : ) That was a pretty cool unit. The dump bed is huge! They have one model below that for about 10, 000..

Whoever priced the Gator HP at $12K was obviuosly joking. One dealer here has them @ $7999.

Re: Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo\'s ?

Test drove a RVT900 today and my first impression was, WOW! This is not an atv and will not compete with one, but if you want a work horse this is it! I have an HST tractor so the sudden deceleration on letting up on the throttle pedal was not a problem. For a large utility it was surprisingly nimble and has a short turning radius. The power steering is really nice and it is not too quick nor does it oversteer. The RVT felt comfortable and was a hoot to drive.
I tested the work model with the hydraulic dump bed. It is surprisingly quick on the cycle time of the dump and the control lever for the bed is at your finger tips on the left side. The only two short comings of the unit that I could see are, there is no tach and no hard point to attach a chain or strap to. Kubota will sell you a front and rear receiver hitch and these are what you hook on to tow or be towed.
The controls are well laid out on the dash with the range selector and the four wheel engagement lever in easy reach. The gages are also not hidden by the steering wheel and set off to the right. This gives a good view of the hour, temp and fuel gages. Built into the dash are two cup holders for your beverage of choice.
Maintenance appears to be well thought out as all dipsticks, filters, battery and fill caps were easily accessible. You do have to raise the dump bed to get to most of the check/fill points. The rest are under the seat or reachable from the outside.
If it sounds like I like this machine then you are correct. I liked it so well that I purchased one, but I do not have it in my possesion at this time. The dealer wanted to wait for the accessories I want (cab and front blade) so he could install them and check the unit out, it could be a long 2-4 weeks. I will post a picture when I get the RVT home.

We have five sold at this time out of the 32 that we ordered. We have only been receiving them for about the last two weeks and the accories seem to be coming slow.

Good move/buy! All the accessories should be available within 4 weeks...probably sooner from what I have seen. The Curtis cab and blade work rather well. Send me a PM if you have any questions about it all...I know a little about the RTV! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Enjoy your new RTV900! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
