Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo's ?

Re: Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo\'s ?

Well DUH! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I didn't think of the float position. However this is not entirely practical with cab doors that get in the way and the bed is not the easiest thing to lift with the fluid resistance. Yes I tried it, but someone with a handicap or an elderly person could not lift it! I think that Kubota could put in an extension tube and drill a hole through the frame to put the oil check outside where it belongs. A flexible extended dipstick would be the finishing touch.
This is too good of a machine to be put off by my ramblings about a minor issue that might not be an issue to someone else. Now if they would just take the Gold out of their plastic /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I should have my winch by the first of next week and hopefully the mounting plate also.
Thanks for the information and exchange Jonathan /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

Re: Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo\'s ?

Thanks for the info. I have purchased a worksite RTV in the interim. So far all I've done is put in a spray in bed liner and drive it .3 hours. The bed liner looks great and cost me about $50. I'm like you in that I'd really love to have a glove box and the storage box under the hood, but the prices for those items are absolutely nuts! Kubota has a great product but will tick off owners if they keep trying to gouge their loyal buyers for parts. After looking closely at the RTV, I believe I will use some of the spray in bed liner on the outside of the front wheel wells where you put your feet when you are sitting in it. It seems to be natural to rest your feet there when sitting in it and it won't take much to wear off the factory paint there. The rubber mat on the floor is good, but those wheel wells will soon lose their paint and rust. If you have a line on where to purchase accessories, please let me know. I really want the winch, speedometer and glovebox. The dealership where I bought mine had absolutely no accessories available at all. They too agreed that the price for the glove box and front storage compartment was priced way too high. I'm wearing out the internet trying to find accessories for my RTV, but am not having any success. I would appreciate it if anybody with information on how or where to buy reasonable priced (and available) accessories for the RTV's to email me at brentdn@insightbb.com. Thanks for your information! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Dargo
Could you give a little information on the spray in bed liner. This sounds like something I would want to do on my RTV. Thanks! BTW congratulations on the new RTV. You are going to love this machine.

Re: Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo\'s ?

Sure thing. Here is a link to what I used http://www.duplicolor.com/products/truckbed.html There are a lot of different liners available and just about as many opinions on what is best to use. What I did was use an entire gallon (enough to do the average truck bed) in the bed of the RTV. With their roller system and a careful tape job it looks great and is definitely easy to apply. I just picked up the liner package at a local Auto Zone store. Again, around $50. It could possibly be bought elsewhere cheaper. I've used it before in a truck and abused it without any problems. I figured a whole gallon in the smaller bed of the RTV would be even better. If you want, send me an email and I can send you some pics of the finished product. I tried to attach a pic, but it wouldn't work. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo\'s ?

Count me in as a new RTV owner as of 3/24. The more I inspect this utility vehicle, the more I'm impressed with the real value built in.

The front bumper was out of alignment due to a manufacturing defect and the dealer advised of this fact upfront and has a replacement ordered under warranty. The only other thing I have noticed is a rattle which appears to be the radiator screen located under the seat-should be an easy fix.

I have not had time to use the vehicle on my property yet, but I will update when the ground firms up to permit driving on the grass.

Congrats!

Front bumper defect? Do you mean front brush guard or front lower bonnet? Just wondering. Any ways, good move and I'm sure you will enjoy it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo\'s ?

The front brush guard is what was probably welded wrong in a jig. It is bolted on with 4 bolts to the bumper frame.

Re: Kubota RTV900 Sightings or Demo\'s ?

The RTV900 is an excellent machine. Lots of durability, followed up with a Kubota diesel engine, 4 wheel drive, and the highest ground clearance in it's class. We had 2 models in already. One worksite and one rec unit. The worksite was sold before we even received it. The rec unit was sold yesterday. They are a hot commodity and very competitively priced versus similar models. Some dealers in our area are still waiting to receive their first shipments. No more for us until next month. Good luck finding one for sale. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
